also i realized mine are just red velvet ones, whoops. (they receive so much praise but at the same time, they do have some misses among their hits like anybody, and sometimes their experimental style is polarizing)

ok so i don't think it's hated, but i stumbled upon some older reviews of their debut song. a lot of critics dismissed rv as nothing special and said this song wasn't good and all that. i think it's really good, although i could see how, at the time, this would be lost in a sea of stylishly weird kpop releases. i think this is probably a song that's better in hindsight, when you can tell what red velvet's distinct style is supposed to be. also, seulgi being introduced rapping her deep af pubescent-boy mc voice and then later showing off her powerhouse vocals while being the flower goddess that she is? pure art.

this has one of the most visually polished, beautiful-to-look-at videos they have ever put out. do i agree that they shouldn't have added "hashtag cookie jar" to the chorus? yeah, but everything else still slaps.

how anybody could call this boring is beyond me! i like a fast-paced, upbeat catchy song as much as the next person, but sometimes low-key is really good, too. the fact that they manage to make stuttering parts of the hook sound wildly different from each other (the "la la la" parts sound like video game glitches, perfectly complementing the track's overall video game theme; the longer "be-be-be-beat beat" sounds like a car honking at you as it speeds towards you, which is exactly what happens in the video where they try to kill each other)................ russian roulette by red velvet belongs in a museum

thoughts? your own picks? (also i'm sorry, as much as i love rv's experimental side, i still don't like zimbazalabim....... but maybe someone could change my mind :P)

Also coloring book by oh my girl.It's my second favorite title track after cupid,it's such a fun,uplifting song and the chorus is heavenly.Seeing so many people hate it tripped me out,at one point I was convinced I was hearing a different song from everyone else

i genuinely tried listening to zimzalabim like a thousand times. it's still... 😔 to me. like there are good parts and joy looks beautiful in it (i mean the dreadlocks were awful and their stylist needed to be fired for doing that to her but apart from that she looked great). but god........

don't hate me, but zimzalabim actually kept me from being a reveluv for a long time, because i first tried to stan just when zim was new. it... put me off. i could only stan when i heard their other songs

i get it. most people don't like it lmao.

I love it though. The cymbals at the beginning, the chant like chorus, the unexpected changes - everything was pretty much top notch for me. I really appreciate SM trying something different for them.
