unnecessary rap parts in songs that do not need them. or constantly needing to have a rapper in a group, like please spare us all and just make them all vocalists. I can't name how many kpop songs that have been ruined or brought down simply because there was a rap part added into it. for no reason, other than to make use of the member that they forced to be a rapper. and then when they do add a rap part they feel the need to change the whole song's instrumental style just to add a trap beat for like 10 seconds and then transition into the original instrumental. LIKE WHYY???

one song that did this was one of my favorite comebacks this year which was you calling my name by got7. like the rap parts were fine until they forced mark to do that talking thing in the bridge at the end, idk if this is considered rapping but tbh I'm gonna guess that they thought it was. it just was so unneeded and the song would have been better if they just left that out.

I agree with you. In certain cases, the rap part is unnecessary and not very well executed and the idol who is forced to pull it is a better singer than rapper.

exactly like?? I often find that usually when companies force idols to rap, its usually because they lack vocally. but I don't see how this could be a problem when the idols usually train for so long?? like instead of forcing them to do something that they most likely aren't passionate about (rap) invest in a vocal coach and help them improve with their singing. of course, there are cases where idols who are introduced to rap through the trainee system actually try to get better at rapping and become passionate about it but that's often time just not the case.

Though I grew up on hip-hop, so naturally it's gonna be something I support in any genre.

right like investing in a vocal coach really is not that hard considering that some companies are willing to spend a shit ton on other things that aren't exactly a necessity when considering the groups talents.

true, there are a lot of groups who utilize rapping in songs for the better. but I agree with you that often times it sounds like a gimmick when it's forced, they most likely put rap parts in to appeal more to an international audience which isn't a bad thing, it's just never executed the right way.

i dont get the deal, rap is not that hard. heck its just talk singing basically.
talking with meter. It just when they try to be 'cool ' but heck the singing gets awful when they try to be 'cool'.
If they can sing at all delivering rap should not be a challenge.

I don't think I've seen any kpop groups that strictly rap though. and rap isn't as easy as that, for most groups case the rap part always sounds stiff, it's not just fast talking or "talking singing" . actually that's why the majority of rap in kpop just sounds bad or forced because they're usually just talking fast. and it's not even just the rapping, often times the whole song changes for like 15 seconds just for the rap part to be in it.

I agree, some songs really don't need a rap verse and would be better to just focus on the idols vocals instead of one part sounding off because of the rapping.
