News Military ordered Seungri to report for duty Feb/March, might interfere with court case (1 Viewer)

South Korea army has sent another notice for Seungri to enlist to his military service. This is cause they were afraid that civilian court case could end up being long and Seungri might not be able to do his military duty. If Seungri ends up enlisting Feb/March as expected his case will be handed to military court. And based on earlier information, this might be fully disclosed from public and press so no idea what kind of info we would get over his case, would we even get to know the judgement, I don't know. I also don't have any idea what happens if he ends up getting jail time while still in army, is there some kind of army jail they'd sent him to?

Seungri may still apply for postponing, but it's not known if military will accept it.

Yep. But if it goes to military court it might just.. be left like it is like we might not get info even on if he was judged guilty or not and what possible punishment is. If there is corruption as well it's easier to brush it under the mat too since people won't be seeing.

I'd rather Seungri face a millitary court then a regular court because less chance of corruption.

Nations with military courts usually have their own prisons which are much harsher than normal prisons, his military tenure of 2 years will be postponed while he is in the military prison and will resume after he is out of that prison.

Maybe he will want to postpone it further then if he can, if he's afraid of that. But i'd hope that he goes to normal court anyways so we get information on what is going on.

Sounds like the military seemed miffed the courts are taking their time with this, and want to sort it in-house themselves. I don’t blame them really, it’s been dragging on for a year now.
