Disney Renaissance vs Studio Ghibli (1 Viewer)

No one does it better when it comes to hand drawn animation.

With so many iconic films between the two I've never needed any Pixar or DreamWorks in my life. Also I dont do CGI films sorry.

You can like both of course but which one do you prefer? I'm only using the Renaissance era for this comparison cause this time period (late 80s to early 2000s) was when both studios peaked. And it's a more fair comparison cause those original Disney films are just too old now. Still love them but different time period.

I do like some of the earlier Pixar movies but my eyes just cant take CGI anymore. It looks so lifeless to me.

Studio Ghilbi's animation has always made me fascinated ever since I was a child. There was just something about it that enchanted me.

Edit: Just to add a little bit more. Disney has never been my thing tbh and I don't think any Disney film (non Pixar) has ever impacted me. Mulan probably came the furthest. But watching Spirited Away when I was younger is still ingrained in my mind to this day. Just everything about that movie was magical to me. Whether it was the unusual story, the animation, the characters themselves etc. I could go on forever about it.

I love both, but ima have to pick Disney. I am such a big Disney fans. 1 thing I love about Disney is the songs. And I just love princesses.

I bought Princess Monoko on Google Play but found out after I bought it it was the English Dub. And I refuse to watch it until I find the Japanese version.

Disney has more variety but I don't think they always pull it off in the best of ways. They're slowly getting better at incorporating proper cultural influences in though. Also there are a few Ghilbi productions that are not set in Japan. When Marnie Was there is one of them I think. Also, you have to consider that Disney is an American company, home to many different ethnicities and cultures. Ghilbi is a exclusively a Japanese company where most of the population is Japanese. There are no other minorities in Japan who there are a large population of like you would see in America..
