What do you use more often talking about things you don't like?

Example
I hate A.C.E
I dislike A.C.E

For me, altho I do not use dislike as often as hate, hate just seem like the overall bad choice when trying to stay on a neutral level in a discussion.
It just gives off the impression that you are more emotionally involved with the thing you hate.

Saying 'I hate EXO's music.' sounds just way more aggressive and, obviously hateful, compared to 'I dislike EXO's music.' I'd even say the hate one could have hidden reasons as to why, you don't like the members, think their vocals are shit or anything where dislike, for me, sounds less personal towards EXO.

Maybe I'm just reading to much into the word hate as well :lazypotato:.

Anyways, what do you prefer to use?

I tend to use 'hate', i don't really see the emotional attachment behind the word. For most cases, using hate is more straight forward than dislike, eg. 'I hate that I don't have a second gen badge' compared to 'I dislike the fact that I don't have a second gen badge' :nosejoo:

lowkey mood tho

I use the word "hate" when talking about songs I, well hate lol.
I use "dislike" when when talking about idols though. I don't "hate" people easily. Dislike? Sure.

I'll use dislike in situations where it's only certain things I am not a fan of but if I just did not like a single thing about something then i'd say I hated it because I found no redeeming quality about it.

I use hate, but I don’t really mean it in an angry or aggressive way. I guess I use it when I just really dislike something.
As for hating a group, I don’t ever say I hate the members or their music. I mean we all have idols whose personalities or music we dislike. But, we shouldn’t actually hate them. Unfortunately though, there are some people who actually detest an entire group. They’ll talk badly about their voices, the way they look, thinking they don’t deserve success, etc. That’s when you know you’re a sad person if actually hating on someone constantly makes you happy.

I think dislike is what i use, cause i don't really hate anything in general, Hate is too strong of a word to use.
Saying that i tend not to use the word dislike much, i usually say, 'not fond of' or 'doesn't float my boat' generally.
I don't think i have a great need to voice my opinion about something i dislike online more so in person.

I use hate for a strong dislike. It never involves anger. It's mostly about making me feel something unpleasant in a stronger than usual way. So long as I remember, I've only used hate on KPS to refer to hip hop, since I can't stand that music.
