Details of the assault (Don't read if you are sensitive to things like this):

• Spoiler: Assault of Maho

  She was assaulted by two men when she returned from the theatre show. The men revealed that a member from the NGT48 had revealed when Maho would be returning home and what is her apartment number.
  [*]Maho said she is always very cautious when returning home. When she returned home, she checked if anyone was in the external corridor before entering her apartment. When she quickly tried to close the door, a hand suddenly appeared from the other side.
  [*]The man opened the door by force and grabbed Maho by the face so that she almost fell down to the floor. she thought that if she gave up now, she would end up dead.
  [*]Another man appeared from the direction of one of the NGT48's member's rooms. The second man tried to pin Maho down which got Maho to scream for help. He covered her mouth with his hand.
  [*]The men were startled by the sound of the elevator which gave Maho a chance to escape to the corridor.
  [*]She was unable to contact the police right away because her phone was stolen.
  [*]The men were arrested but by January they had been released.
  [*]Management forbade her from explaining the situation on her social media platforms.
  [*]Maho was reluctant to speak about the issue because she did not want to cause any trouble.
  [*]She does not want anyone to hate NGT48.
  [*]But she also does not want any of the other girls to go through something similar.
  [*]"It's fine if it's just me crying, but seeing everyone else cry, feel frustrated and uneasy, I want to do something about it."

Inaoka Ryuunosuke(Inapooh):

• There is speculation that he has sexually assaulted a former NGT48 member Takahashi May.
• Has assaulted a female fan, who came forward with the issue but was ignored.
• Sells personal information of idols.
• Claimed he was able to force a manager out due to his connections with the management.
• Ichiro Imamura has handed him large qualities of CDs and tickets under the table.

Kasai Hiroaki & Joe Kitagawa:

• Kasai and Joe received the address from Inapooh.
• Joe is rumoured to have a relationship with NGT48's member Tano Ayaka.
• Joe mocked Niigata police for being weak and not detaining him.
• Kasai was the 3rd man in the crime scene.
• Kasai is speculated to be NGT48's member Sato Anju's sibling.
• NGT fandom is small, so the other fans were able to recognize who the troublemakers were.

NGT48 members speculate to be connected to the case:
Tano Ayaka:

• Maho unfollowed Ayaka on twitter on the day of the assault.
• Ayaka made fun of Maho losing weight in a showroom live. 'She lost 4kg in one week' while laughing. Yamada Noe was also a part of this showroom.
• The voices of the criminals resemble voices of Ayaka's regular fans who come to see the shows.
• Speculated to know details about former Kitagawa's harassment. January 8th suddenly started talking about her and duct tape in a showroom live. Yamada Noe was apart of this showroom live as well.
• Mentioning Inapooh's name in a showroom live. "Ok, I'm gonna go back to sleep, good night. Oh, and thank you Inapooh. Goodnight." "Ahh, I woke up...Oh Inapooh, you're awake too?!"
• In a showroom live she read a comment that said "Joe-kai now (dinner party hosted by Joe)" and she immediately says Joujouen (the Yakiniku chain restaurant). She continued: "Ayakani-chan (referring to herself in third person) forgot about going there and began showroom".
• She missed the same appearance as Maho, later covered it saying her cat was sick.

Nishigata Marina:

• Marina was unfollowed by Maho in twitter on the day of the assault.
• Apparently regularly bullied Maho.
• Rumoured to date one of the attackers Kasai.
• Riko Sugahara, Maho's friend liked a hate comment in Marina's instagram.
• Was questioned by police.

Ogino Yuka:

• Maho unfollowed Yuka in twitter on 12th January.
• Maho's friend Rika also unfollowed Yuka on that day.
• Posted a picture with Tano Ayakawith a text saying 'I love you' 9th January.

Sato Anju:

• Maho unfollowed Anju in twitter on 12th January.
• Speculated to be the sibling of one of the attackers (Kasei)

Yamada Noe:

• Maho does not follow Noe on twitter.
• When Ayaka made fun of Maho losing weight, first looked confused, but when Ayaka had repeated what she had said, Yamada laughed.
• Made fun of former manager Kitagawa and duct tape together with Ayaka.
• Good friends with Nishigata Marina & Tano Ayaka and has 'bully' attitude towards the victims.

Kato Minami:

• Maho does not follow Minami on twitter.
• Close friends with Yamada Noe.
• Is speculated to be the daughter of the CEO of a company in Niigata that is said to handle NGT48's handshake events. It would make sense for management to protect her.

Sugahara Riko:

• Is known to be close friends with Maho.
• Unfollowed some of the members speculated to be connected to the case.
• Liked a hate comment left on Nishigata Marina's Instagram.
• Will graduate alongside Maho.

Hasegawa Rina:

• Has been in daily contact with Maho on LINE.
• Will graduate alongside Maho.

Murakomu Fuka:

• Maho herself said that Fuka is one of the three members who still talk to her.

Kitahara Rie:

• Former leader of NGT48.
• Commented on the situation in twitter:
• "You shouldn't apologize!...You have done nothing wrong...Lowering your head like that is wrong! It mortifies me. I don't want you to apologize to that man who is the culprit...this made me very sad!"

Sashihara Rino:

• Recently graduated as a member of HKT48.
• Commented on the situation in twitter.
• "I am worried she is thinking she is to blame...I pray she recovers from this as soon as possible. The same thing can not be repeated."
• Criticized the management in a TV Show 'Wide na Show'.
• "I felt the response from the management side was terrible, it was no good".

Otari Yuria:

• Former NGT48 Kenkyuusei.
• Comment on the situation in twitter.
• "When the incident happened, I could not protect her. The day before the incident was in the news, I received a phone call, she said "Save me". I am sorry for not being able to do anything. From now on, if it's not too late, I will protect you with all my might. You should not be the one bowing your head".

Aftermath of the incident:

• Lots of sponsors have left NGT48.
• The two teams NIII and G will be mixed and they will continue as the first generation rather as two teams.
• Maho, Riko and Rena will be graduating. They will be the only members present at the graduation event.
• AKS filed a lawsuit against the two attackers. Fans speculate this is for money or saving their face. Many say it is a little too late after trying to sweep everything under the rug.
• AKS does not hold general election for 48 groups this year (Timestamp the year it actually happened, 2019). Elections run mainly with the money from sponsors and it is speculated that due to the incident, they have trouble getting sponsors.

The whole NGT scandal was a horrible situation and I am happy Akimoto used the influece he has to set Maho and her friends up in other companies. Maho didn't deserve this and the fact they performed Keyaki's Kuroi HItsuji at their graduation is just....

I am curious as to how that was even allowed or if management just didn't care by that point anymore.

It really is horrible if you think about it and although only 2 of the guys physically attacked Maho, there were so much more to it than that where certain members were involved and also management. It's like Maho was by herself other than the few friends she had to stick up for her.

Yeah it means Black sheep and that was Maho centering it. Look up the lyrics of Kuroi Hitsuji... the song is literally about being the black sheep. Some lyrics from there are (but still, look up the whole lyrics and if you can watch the MV as well):

What I have herd hinted at in interviews from girls acting in tokusatsu shows this doesn't surprise me. I am happy she got away.

I have tried to make sense of the stories since last year.
First thing no matter what happened or is the truth, it is crystal clear that management had zero clue about the internal vibe with the girls.
that locker room was a train wreck.
This alone is an fail(makes me wonder why the dude was reassigned.)
Wasn't she co captain of G?

About the only thing that makes any sense is management flat does not believe her story.
This is a crazy position to take btw from an established org that has parents trust them and put control of children on a daily basis for a decade and a half.
Just from a pr perspective (as we can see it is all bad pr for the company) this is so risky.
The simple thing to do would have been to clean house the day/ week it was reported.
The whole deal with AKS (from an outside observer) is the the girls are replaceable, so replace em. Be the cold - hearted business and throw some kids under the bus.
Even if you think she is lying the risk is too great gotta side with the relate-able story.

and after it all goes to hell why was the entire team management not sacked?
Maybe AKS just did not have that kind of control over NGT.
