it's just straight up a mess.
In a recent live they switched languages approx. every THREE seconds. EVERY THREE SECONDS!
It's bcs damn near all their sentences are this weird mix of english, mandarin and korean.
IT IS WEIRD!

I blame it on the fact that they all speak so many different languages as their 1st ones.
Kun is the ONLY one who speaks Mandarin as his first language
Well yangyang does too, but bcs he spent so much of his childhood in Germany he himself will admit his mandarin isn't "standard"

So... conversations get messy.
Sometimes they will go from english to mandarin back to english to korean in one damn sentence!
It's a wonderful mess you can see in here for example:

PS: This channel is doing gods work translating these messes! I also adore how they also add what language they are speaking at any given moment!

How can their brains process all those languages in one sentence!?

:jisoosmh: :llama_laugh:
I think what happens... is they start a sentence in one language, run into a word they either don't know/find hard to pronounce/aren't sure of and instead say it in another language.
Then they either continue in the language they switched to or go back to the 1st language until the same situation comes up again.

And like they can do that, bcs well... others speak the other language too.
When there is a chinese member in a kpop group for example, they usually can't do that... bcs well... the koreans don't understand mandarin. So using a mandarin word instead will not make things any more understandable to the others.

But in WayV at any time members will have at least 3 languages in common, so they can get away with the switches... and then they get used to the switching....

Switching around languages is actually really easy when you know them, at home my sentences are half English and half Russian because I speak both, and since I speak them both well my brain doesn't care which language it is because it's automatic to understand. Brains are cool :maheart:
