Cube still has Pentagon, right? They still have yet to get their first win, plus it's only really (G)I-DLE that have been doing really well recently anyway because CLC haven't had a comeback since last year and BTOB haven't had one since 2018?
So, they should focus on the groups they have, but it seems like they are purely focussing on (G)I-DLE atm.

Honestly I think companies should follow the lead of Chungha and IU and debut soloist. They can be idols or normal pop artist. I think they avoid it because groups proved more profitable since the late 2000’s but if companies play their cards right they can have the next BoA or RAIN but with a wider reach in 2020. It cost less, is easier to market and if there a idol or pop singer the market in Korea is a lot less competitive.

To be fair the only reason why BtoB haven’t had a comeback is because they’re in enlistment mode. Eunkwang was recently discharged, Minhyuk and Changsub went last year, and we’ve got at least Sungjae going this year. BtoB will still be Cube’s moneymakers because they debuted in 2012 and have the fanbase (that Dear Bride release was a Japanese one), but it’d be nice if Cube could pull their other groups up a bit. Sorn has been gathering fans via youtube, and Yeeun is all but confirmed to be on that show with female rappers, which’ll do some good for CLC.

They were supposed to debut a new boy group last year but then they got into a legal dispute with Guanlin from Wanna One and that slowed them down. BtoB are still enlisting and Pentagon are about to start enlisting this year. They need a young boy group with 2000s babies that aren’t gonna enlist anytime soon.
