I have found that pretty annoying : many boys, mostly arabs (I have nothing against them but that's what I have noticed) were talking to me, without even being interested into learning French. And honestly you and me know what they want
Certainly not language exchanging. I have had few problems in the past, because I have sent pictures of myself on an app. Some people did ask me some hotter pics ...

I haven't tried Tandem, but I did use Good Night for a while. It allows you to connect via voice to a random speaker of a language you're interested in.

I am being careful with who I am talking and I won't hesitate to block anyone if that person is insisting for pictures.

i don't like blocking people LOL i just don't have the heart for that. i don't add any sketchy people on snapchat so i never usually have that problem

As long as I know; men and women don't use the same speech patterns. I at least have read it about Japanese; but I guess it's true everywhere. So I think it's better for anyone to stick to same sex language partners; unless you want to pick up the opposite sex's ways of speaking.
