I was confused why until I went on twitter. That's definitely unfair to you imo even if they have a social reason for it

I understand what happened is bad, but it wasn't even trending ever since I was online and wasn't reported on in the news in my country. You can't expect people all over the world to know.
I just don't get why trending the hashtag that trends every week will suddenly change things tho? There need to be actions taken. Trending a hashtag on only one platform will not do anything, sad as it may be.

I think while you as a non-american aren't obliged to CARE.... If say non-americans make another tag trend while it is going on that would be like actively fighting against their cause.

You don't have to care, but if you TRY to make smth trend you are, even if unintentionally, fighting against their attempts to pull as much attention as they can to the problem.

I understand but I think that as you said they aren't obliged to care, and while it is bad I think assuming that non americans definitely know what happens and care about it is too much. At the end of the day it's an american issue and not everyone knows what goes on here, nor should everyone assume that they do.

But you being upset, that this problem is.... Making your enjoyment of a site less? that you can't go about your own day bcs of it?

I am speaking up about it and I dont have a problem with it trending, nor am I upset that it's making my enjoyment of a site less, even though it really isn't doing that to me. I have a problem with people attacking others because of it because I don't think thats appropriate or the best way to go about it. The whole thing started because of hate and I dont think hating on others because of it is how it should be dealt with, at least not hating people who aren't related to the problem itself.

Let me tell you this:
I live with racist parents and have tried to educate them a lot, for years. The only thing it did was my parents hating on me, ridiculing me and my mental health declining. I've been kicked out of the house 3 times because I defended other races.
I gave up. I'll still try to help and support all races, sexualities etc with petitions and such
I'm not ignoring the problem, I don't speak up against it because I risk losing everything.
I am currently in a slump with my mental health. I am not in the best place and have suffered losses a few days ago all in the same day and am still mourning over these losses. Kpop is my escapism and makes me forget these troubles. Sorry, but this is the last thing on my mind rn, especially in a space I go to to forget the troubles I am dealing with.
