It's still like a lot of BG songs though and the rap is like most other raps in kpop, male and female.

This song will be super popular though as it is pretty catchy, the choreo is pretty good and the set is also pretty good.

He's just gotten lazy with his production, but the songs are successful so probably sees little reason to change

I don't love it but I can see how it would be popular.
Overall, BG's are just not my scene as I find so many of them to be similar with the music, choreography, type of songs and rap (although, I can say a lot of GG have similar types of rap as well) and find GG have a lot more variety overall.
I find that BG choreography is most of the time that sharp, cool looking choreo which is good but if it's overused, it can get really boring.
I know Dreamcatcher and Gfriend have sharp choreography, but they do it on a way that you know it's their type of choreo and Gfriend and Dreamcatcher's choreography's are actually pretty different from each other.

Yeah I share a lot of the same sentiments as you which is why I find most boy groups boring. Also their overly edgy, moody, angst aesthetic gets too old for me sometimes.
One of the reasons I got into Treasure was because they have really good vocals and their concept/image is very fresh and energetic, which matches their young ages. I think the song went hard but at the same time the melody and verses did their job in keeping it on the lighter side of things. The lyrics weren't emo either, so I loved it all.

Yeah that could be the case, I hope YGE or whoever makes these decisions realize that BP had hits before D4 too and don't have to stick to the same formula to be successful or break into the US market.
Still, that's part of the reason I always get apprehensive these days when I read that Teddy is the producer lol. I wish YGE used more producers like SM and JYP do as well, this single album is a step in the right direction.

Wow this is unlike anything YG has ever released before! It's sooooo good! The last time I enjoyed a group's debut this much was (G)I-DLE's. I seriously watched this with a smile which was really weird because I don't know anything about these boys. I'll definitely look out for them from now on.
