It used to be an elite sport but, despite being more accessible, still kinda is expensive so that could be a factor.
NA, Europe and some Asian countries do best but there are a few Rising Stars from Africa. Popularity is growing so maybe soon it will pick up in your region too

Ooh yeah your national federation was only founded in 2004. According to FEI, you only do jumping and endurance. Only athlete in their database is Mathilda Karlsson (jumping). She's currently in a lawsuit with FEI cuz her rankings were deleted making her lose her Olympic qualification
So if she wins the lawsuit, she can compete for you in Sri Lanka
