soooooo, some background:

i've been playing the piano for 3 years, and actively participating in competetions. last year, i couldn't attend one because of my lack of motivation, and i ended up not finishing my second piece. my mother was furious, but it blew over after a week, and she started talking to me again. but she always brings that up. tomorrow is another competition. because so many groups have had comebacks, and new debuts and everything, instead of practicing the piano, i was a dumbass and kept up with the kpop world.

my piano teacher told me that i'm not going TOMORROW just YESTERDAY, and i haven't told my mom. she's legit going to kill me. how do i tell her? i already wrote a note, but i'm too scared to give it to her, and absolutely don't want to look into her eyes when she finds out, so i can't tell her directly.

someone help, i screwed up BAD

oof, i'm sorry

just... try to give that note to your mother and explain the situation. even if she is a bit mad, i'm sure she will understand in the end. we are people, we get distracted and... she only wants the best for her child
don't be scared, all parents are like this, but i think she will understand if you are open with her

For me personally, I’d probably tell my dad first and try to get him on my side before I explain to her. And after that, I think you kinda just have to face it. Sometimes I’m scared to tell my parents things because I know I fucked up and I don’t want them to scream and get mad at me. But I know it’ll eventually happen so usually I just tell them and get it over with. Eventually they’ll see reason and get less mad and we usually make up pretty quickly. The most important thing is to learn from your mistakes. Practice more next time or talk about it with her seriously that you’re just not interested in doing piano competitions.

thank you, I'll give the note to her

thank you, I'll also talk to my dad
I just don't want to keep competing. Piano is a hobby for me, not something serious. I'm learning the uke too, and more into that instead of piano...

Admit it was your fault, apologize and move on?
that would be the best, but I'm not sure whether she'll move on
thanks child
