(if there are any typos is because it was a quick google translation)

is going to be the first time is held without a live audience, also for people that don't know Kohaku is by far Japans biggest musical event, despite falling ratings it still averages a viewership of almost 40%!

Interesting to see AKB48 won't be attending

now that you point that... i do feel that the list is missing something (at least compared to previous years)

still, not a bad line up, also is cool to see so many "newbies" this year

This year they only have the 57th single and the covid song right?
HKT has nothing since Rino left.
I assume ske was going to do a Jurina good bye.
NGT is still ......
NMB and stu i am not sure of.

I get why they weren't invited, they've been doing nothing and don't really have prominent members left...

yea AKB went all in on Oguri Yui (who i feel is a shadow of Yuki, charming and kinda elegant) and the ngt mess was at a super awful time in the regen process.

They are trying to fix that with a bunch of akb member only tv spots and killing the sister group members from the akb teams proper but time caught them in the wrong place.

as i have been learning about them it is pretty clear that aside from Sasshii, Sakura, Nana and Tomu. Very few girls have been able to skip over generational ace members. Ogino Yuka seems to be very early vote driven so it kinda makes me feel her rank is an illusion and not a reflection on her national popularity.

Also i guess them not getting invited was trending first.
