SM:
Pro: I respect them musically and they always deliver vocals. They do know how to build a strong fanbase
Con: Long history of corruption and they blacklist. Too restrictive of groups when it comes to creativity. Imo, they skimp on Red Velvet a lot

Coridel:
Pro: They let Jessica do anything she wants.
Con: Lazy and needs to find alternative methods to promote Jessica. Along with finding better in-house producers. Also a comeback for Playback

SM restrictive on creativity? I don't think so... They have the most unique music and if you want to release your own songs... You better write good music in that case!

They create good music but their artists have said it's extremely difficult to get songs personally written chosen on the album or even get creative imput. SNSD didn't get full creative imput until eight years in and Seohyun still complained about them rejecting all their songs.

JYP also creates good music but let's Twice be more active in creative process

SM

Pros: The best vocalists and dancers in kpop (At least in my opinion) Even when a group is on hiatus or not promoting, the members won't be left jobless. Good music, that often surprises you. Does their own thing and ignores other companies. Compared to other companies idols can get solos easily.

Cons: Has treated their idols very badly, at least in the past (I am optimistic about the current situation) Has a you are either with us or against us mentality.

That is true, but I think they just have high standards. You can write a whole song yourself and if it is good enough for SM it can get released, or you let the experts do their thing.

SM - same as yours

CUBE -

Pro: They give their artists a lot of creative freedom to do what they want. They’re really good at giving us content (Produsorn, Seungyeon’s dance videos, Cheatkey, etc.). All of their artists are really close with each other and talented.

Cons: Bad history (Beast, Hyuna-Edawn scandal, etc.)

BigHit:

Pros
  • High quality output in terms of music, visuals, branding
  • Appealing focus on 'authenticity'
  • Consistently supports music with a message
  • Bang PD is a legit genius with a great philosophy and seems to put it into action
  • As close to openly LGBT-supporting as you can get under the circumstances
  • Give their artists a fair amount of freedom (BTS was allowed to date when trainees, etc.) and supposedly their artist pay structure is quite generous for the industry
  • Seem to maintain good talent well (Pdogg, Adora, Slow Rabbit, Son Sungdeuk, Hiss Noise, BTS renewing their contract a year early, they have the same manager from the beginning, etc.)
  • Not afraid to take risks and be innovative
Cons
  • Mysterious - you never know what the hell is coming and when; awfully quiet when things are going down to the point it can be frustrating and worried that they won't do anything, like when they were silent for weeks during the T-shirt controversy
  • No girl groups; I'd love to see their producers and writers work with ladies and it bothers me a bit that they don't
  • Sometimes it feels like they're throwing SO much at the wall to see what sticks/they have SO many projects for BTS it's dizzying and perhaps over-saturating
  • They at times have seemed unprepared for BTS's fame and the effects of that; too reactive when proactive would be better

YG

Pros: Focuses on artistry and song-writing, good rappers, goes all-in with comebacks that are almost always succesful, rather loyal to artist and doesn't care about scandals too much.

Cons: Long hiatuses and lot of delays + dungeon, founder is bit creepy and insults artists once a while and creates fanwars between fandoms, aura of shadiness

legit just about to say that
ALSO, they haven't promoted BTS outside of Japan and Korea very well. They don't sub Vlives or BBs, and then take down videos of ARMY that take the time to sub to I-ARMYS. They barely tour anywhere aside from US and Europe, and I just feel bad for Italian and Indian armys (others too ofc), because they've been begging for a long time, and India's population is like o.o (I know, since I'm Indian), and so many armys are waiting to see BTS, but they'll never get the chance unless they travel.

Big Hit doesn't give BTS justice with their promotions.

JYP

Pros
  • manage talent decently well
  • can make very good calls

Cons
  • shady sometimes (wtf happened with the WG thing?)
  • overworks his idols: ppl say YG is the worst, but Twice had SO many cbs during 2018 and nobody said a word?

that's very basic, too lazy to get into more details, but JYP is my bias company
not only does he have great talent, he knows how to distribute that talent, and he's an amazing ceo

never stanned YG groups tbh, and SM is not the right 'fit' for me. JYP is perfect. ofc, Big Hit too, but since they only have my ult group under them, they're not my 'real' bias company.

Yes that's really true these huge territories where they don't do much of anything! I should have added 'let the fandom do most of their promo and thus leaves big holes' they could be building support in like India. (So many Indian ARMY on my Twitter TL are so frustrated too, I don't blame you guys)

I mean, I live in the US now, so that's fine, but yeah, they let the fandom do their promotions. ARMYpedia could be HUGE if they had advertised it correctly, but the hype died in like three days.
