honestly, I don’t really care about them: they help contribute in physicals, digitals, and streaming and don’t really cause any big issues.
but I def am sometimes guilty of solo stanning, especially with groups that debuted from produce style shows: I only keep up with liu ye and zhao lei from r1se lmao

I’m a solo stan for Taeyeon so I definitely don’t see anything wrong with stanning just one person. If only one or two people in a group stand out to you, then it’s perfectly fine. You don’t have to force yourself to like the other members

the whole air of exclusively that yg has pushed for bp worked really well for them, but it also let the solo stans become as bad as they are rn tbh

i think the main problem with solo stans is people mixing up the term with akgaes

its super hard for me to solo stan at all.
Even rocket girls a group that feels more solo stan career wise than any produce group.
I mean i loved Duan Aojuan from the audition on, but Rainbow , Lai Meiyun, Zining, Mimi, Fu Jing were not far behind . not that i disliked any of them ofc like many YCY was just so bad considering how great some of the eliminated girls were hurt.

Solo Stan ≠ akgae is the main thing to remember. It's fine if you're a solo Stan as long as you don't bash or unnecessarily hate on the other members.
If you start hating on other members for breathing and think your bias farts rainbows, that's when it becomes a problem.
