So few of you may know but I like to read books
a lot
like a lot a lot
to the point that some of my old friends on here
will hmu randomly for a new book rec.
Well, every year I set a goal for myself, and this year my main one is to finish the series I started.
The most daunting one right now is the Tokyo Ghoul Manga series.
I'm hoping I'll make quick work of the books though in the end.
So here are the series and how many books I've read so far.

Completed:
The Falling Kingdoms Series: 6/6
The Illuminae Files: 3/3

In Progress:
Folk of The Air Series: 2/3
Six Of Crows: 1/2
A Song Below Water: 1/2
Cursebreakers: 1/2
Tokyo Ghoul: 2/15
The Diviners: 1/4
Charlotte Holmes: 1/4
Wayward Children Series: 5/7
Nevernight Chronicles: 1/3
Monster's of Verity: 1/2
Hunger Games: 1/3

I have so many fucking series I need to finish like holy fuck.
But with the right attitude hopefully, I'll be able to do it.

If you are curious about my thoughts on any of these series.
Or want to know more about them feel free to ask me!!!
Or if you have something to say about them that too.

I don't know why I made this thread I just wanted to LOL

The Folk Of The Air series is one I hate but I've gotten so far in it that I don't care anymore and the writing has gotten better same with the characters so I am somewhat interested in the ending at this point.

I have read and completed more series than this. Like the Harry Potter one, but these are just the ones I finished this year. The only series I think I've reread is the Selection series tbh.

It's cool to know this though because I didn't know you read for fun like I do.

Series i want to finish:
Kingkiller:2/3 (3 unreleased, may be forever)
Locke Lamora: 2/7 (3 books out but i hvnt gone past maybe 1st page of 3)
SoIf aka GoT: 5/7 (famously the most antipicated upcoming book EVAH for at least 10 or more years now.
Poppy War series: 1/3 (all 3 out)
Jade series: 1/3 (all 3 out)
Terra Ignota series:3/4 (bk 4 upcoming in 2021, release date announced)
Great Gods War series:1/3 (2 books out but may hv been orphaned by the publisher after the writer Stephen Donaldson publicly announced edits of brutal cuts wanted by the publisher while he wanted to discuss it, they just dumped the contract IIRC, meaning no other publisher would put out book 3 cos economics)
Enola Holmes: ?/6 (series completed?) I cant rmbr how many of the books iv read, its about Sherlock's much younger sister and the 1st book was adapted into a great movie on Netflix.

I used to read to bits most of my books when i was young(-er) n had time, but not as many books-now i hv more books n even more access to digital books but i find i dont read as many books as i did. Even 'holy grail' books tat i nvr saw cos they werent distributed here like Vorkosigan, Brust Jhereg, n others i hv read 1 time, but just find it not rewarding to reread imo(not saying not worth rereading but for me rereading is as much comfort food type feeling, since i dint read em when younger-doesnt apply). For tat matter, i stalled out tryin' reread LOTR, SoIf aka GoT, dragons series too. Just finding it hard to read as much these days. Did finish some books in 2020 waning days so there's tat, but they were digital books-Easy Riders, Raging Bulls; Skin in the Game by Taleb, Sherlock Holmes canon (books 1,2 n shorts). Maybe others i dont rmbr rn.

I borrowed Malazan from library and finished 1 but had to return 2 after a couple hundred pages n (i think i couldnt renew immediately) dint want to buy it so nvr continued. Tat book 1 made my head hurt was a point against the series.
I love dragon riders to the point i hv read all the books out, even those by her children todd n georgina[srry if spelt wronglt] (separately). Still wishing for a final book from todd AND georgeanne (gonna try n get it rite smh).

I finished all Goodkind up till Richard Rahl saga ends, but nvr tried Nikki chronicles.
I finished Feist Midkemia digitally from library after a long hiatus since prince of the blood/Mara of Kesh reading hiatus from tat series.
I read all 3 Covenant (3,3,4 books as fast as possible) but hv rereading trouble now, cos it wasnt Chronicles redux. A me problem?
Daniel Abraham 1st series Seasons sth sth or other was awesome. Hvnt tried new series.
I did trawl some Star Wars books, Solo Corellia trilogy n others but barely remember.
Stross, Novik, Park, Moore n others all had series i hvnt completed. Stross' Merchant Princes, Novik's Majesty's Dragon, Park's hidden/Tourmaline, Moore(Christopher)'s humorous fantasy with Death, serious(-er) work with art/artists, Fforde, n i think others too.
Pratchett ofc , his last few but his first many i still hvnt read. Moist von Lipwig n Tiffany Aching are my favorite Pratchetts. With Nation also holding a warm place in my heart. Vimes n Granny n Magrat n so many others followin after tat, Susan!!! Ill watch the Watch BBC series tho Rhianna said sth like its not 'Dad's Watch', nvm it might be atrocious or it might not, the books r still there. N Going Postal movie adaptation exists.
Tats all for now. Maybe ill edit this rambling mess n make a thread of my own.

Oh wow. The Holmes series I'm reading is about his great great great great great great granddaughter and Watson's Great great great great great great grandson solving crimes together. I didn't know there was yet another Holmes series.

I also want to start the Poppy War series. I have the first book in it but again I'm trying to finish series not start them! XD

I love Poppy War 1 but its srsly violent n mental( i am not a doctor), in a non judgemental way since Rin could be classed as a mass killer/some kinda holocaust causer(idr so i might be wrong in scale), tats not wat is stopping me tho as Jade War series isnt as holocaust-y n i also cant get myself in the right frame to read book 2. (Poppy War 1 seems a lot like Mulan live action in parts tho, maybe inspired/borrowed from Disney animated as Rebecca Kuang seems right age to hv imprinted tat movie, nWait she was 2 yrs old when animated movie came out, Aaaargh im so old.)

It is a weird series.

Glen cook's Black company is more fun less weird.

Reread brust last year i like the jhereg as an ide the time skip is annoying.

Donaldson (stephen R ) is weird i read the first 2 lord foul sets and the Mirror set I think it was.

piers Anthony is soo hit or miss the first few Xananth was good, incarnations of immortality i LOVE on a pale horse. The blue adept seris was fun.

Terry brooks all the shanarra stuff and his magic kingdom for sale

Palolini was interest for a kid trying epic fantasy.

Tad Williams his green angel tower set.

Ofc Eddings Jordan ect :)

most ya stuff was to share my love of reading with the munchkins.
