yeah Chinese drama stuff is different especially the online dramas. They'll release like two episodes each day or just drop everything at once

i think i've only seen like one chinese drama and no web drama, that's really interesting

yeah i've only recently gotten into them but the chinese dramaland is flooded with content and has its own way of getting in viewers. Some dramas will be on TV and online, some will just be the channels website, some will be on youtube even though YT is banned in China lmao.

There's also the stuff with censorship where a drama may just ~disappear~ because its causing too much controversy or features something the gov doesn't want it to. Like there's a big BL boom about to come in a year or two and from a drama reviewer I watch they already predict that there may be censorship problems.

Its honestly pretty wild but i'm enjoying some of the stuff i'm watching

copyright stuff doesn't really fall under censorship its just that they used other people's "property" (in this situation I think it was because they sang a song that is copyrighted w/out permission).

Censorship in China can be pretty weird. Like there use to be a bunch of dramas where a protagonist went back in time and they forced production companies to stop making them because they thought there was too many. That might be what happens with the BL dramas or they'll bring in another female character to be the new love interest completely erasing the subtext of the two male leads being the love interests.

The censorship of social media posts is the real wild stuff though lol
