In real life, do you prefer to go by a nickname or by your full name?

I like going by my full name mainly cause I dislike most if not all of the common nicknames that exist for my name.​

I hate my full name and I have not once willingly gone by it. I even checked with babysitters and people who knew me as a child, and they've all only ever known me to go by my nickname. Said nickname is unisex, and as I have always been non-binary, it's much preferred to my feminine full name. I've actually thought of making it my legal name, but that is a huge pain in the butt to do.

Nickname; there are too many other people with my first name. At one point, there was someone else in my company with not only my first name, but my last name as well.

Everybody calls me by my nickname, except for people I've just met for the first time; they use my full name.

Just my full name in most cases since it's literally just Lily lol, the same length as most people would shorten their name to as a nickname anyway. Some people have shortened my name to just Lil which I find a little bit awkward. I do enjoy cute nicknames though, my most recent favourite has been Fairy which a few people on discord servers have started calling me due to my discord username and in general I like any sort of pet name (as long as it doesn't lowkey come off as condescending like 'sweetie' or 'hun' can lol) but it depends who it's coming from really and people either usually just call me by my name or they'll call me something that was meant to be cute but is actually just awkward so unless i'm good friends with someone I prefer to just be called my name lol
