I think it could help in some aspects as some people have tons of kids or kids that end up under an unfit parent/s that just makes them suffer and they end up passing that on. As for how this could be done well if people were limited to having 2 kids it'd do it naturally as a couple has to have 2 kids to replace both of them and if people couldn't have more than 2 then any person who doesn't want kids would decrease the population in theory.

China has a 2 child limit and it doesn't seem to be working. This is good in idea but doesn't work in practice.

Okay, I'm not pro government or anything but I definitely disagree with a lot of the points you made here.

The government taking control in certain aspects can actually benefit individual lives rather than harming them. The government workers absolutely are privileged but I still believe that a lot of things they do can actually help.

Like some of the pros I mentioned, a lower population would improve the lives of individual families and decrease unemployment rates so that would definitely help people. But at the same time, if the government can control reproductive aspects of our life, they can control anything...which is why I'm stumped on my answer.

It's a win and lose situation unfortuanately... it will definitely have it's pros but that also comes at the cost of other factors of our lives as well. There is really no "freedom." One has to decide whether they are willing to abide by their morals and beliefs no matter what, or give that up for the sake of a macro level cause. This can be both good and bad at the same time.

And sorry if I seem so anti-government lol. I didn't mean to come off as so strident, it's just that where I'm from, the government is very shady and pay very little attention to the well being of people like me.

Hell, I'm religious and agree with this we are MEANT to have a separation of church and state (at least here <.<)

My religion does have government policies (that I don't believe are mandatory) but you're supposed to follow the law of the land.

I can see why it would be something to think about but is there really any ethical way to do it except just a gentle push every now and then?? Because setting hard limits definitely infringes on rights.

Can bring positive change, but will it? Likely, no. Looking at a realistic standpoint I will take neighborhoods in Cleveland, Ohio for example which is where I grew up. The population goes up every year yet the areas become worse and worse. It doesn't always inflict positive change, and in a lot of cases can make things worse.

very true but business is not really ethical. for example, finding loopholes into not paying your taxes. while it's legal, it's def not ethical.

The fact that there are so many men frightens me

I mean how are we going to raise the female population? We can't reward people for having girls because that's unethical on so many levels. The government can't really fully change social stigmas either.

changing perspectives on the role of women play a huge factor too, a lot more career women nowadays
and there’s the whole thing about women having their children when they’re older too
