yes and no, I believe a person has multiple and that they come and go
I believe soulmates to be people to ultimately help you better each other, be the relationship be platonic, romantic, or even non existent
throughout life, you’ll need different people at different times, and I think the concept of soulmates should reflect that

This is a very nice take. The term soulmate never actually implies that it's romantic. It's just someone that has an impact on your soul and who you are to a great degree.

Honestly, we've probably met so many of our soulmates at this point. Whether it be childhood friends or even a teacher.

This is a very nice take. The term soulmate never actually implies that it's romantic. It's just someone that has an impact on your soul and who you are to a great degree.

yeah, of my two best friends, I’ve known one since birth, and the other since age five and we’re still really close, our friendship has probably lasted longer than most romantic relationships ;-;
and my grade six teachers def did shape my worldview a lot to what it is right now
unpopular opinion here, but I place friendship over romance: both play an important role in your life, but you can function without romance, friendship not so much; which is why the idea of soulmates only being romantic always confused me tbh

I'd say both are equal in my life. I don't think I could lead a life without ever getting married. But that depends on the person.

As you mentioned, no one can live without friendships. This is definitely a very interesting take!
