Just seeing him triggers a lot of memories. He looks almost exactly the same. Knowing that his records are likely sealed and he gets to live as if he's done nothing wrong infuriates me. We as a society need to stop letting people get away with things like this. For the longest time, I was terrified of gay men. Yeah, did I mention he was gay? That was his excuse for doing what he did, he was gay and not attracted to the people he was sexually assaulting, so it was fine.

I hate that you had to endure something so horrible. I agree, we live in a crap society that only cares about itself. It’s good that you’ve healed from the pain. He deserves it right back at him and so much worse. His excuse should be that he’s an actual psychopath because he doesn’t seem to care about inflicting trauma onto others and it pleases him to do so. Maybe he’ll get it aids from unsafe sex.

I don't think too much about him, because giving him a place in my mind just means that is all still a part of me. It took a long time, a lot of healing, and some incredibly understanding gay friends to get past things. I went to a K-12 episcopal school and attended that school since Kindergarten. I didn't had to moved to another country after my 10th grade year.

• One of my friends lost her virginity at school under the school stairwell.
• In 9th grade I was dating a guy and he a senior and he hotwired one of the teacher car and took it for a joyride with some of his friends. He didn't got in trouble since he was also the star football player.
• My bf and I during homecoming snuck into one of the classroom to mess around.
• One of my teacher ended up marrying one of my classmates after she graduated.
• One of the elementary school teacher had an affair with one of her student's dad and the mom found out and the mom and the teacher had a whole fight. Slapping, pulling hair, cursing at each other. This happen at Open House.
• One of the teacher that happen to be known for being super homophobic and also was mean to all the female student was actually having an lesbian relationship with one of the female student that she would pick on the most.
• Someone in a class next to mine in 5th grade brought their pet snake to show n tell and it got loose. We could hear the scream from our classroom.

I was staying in the school's girls' hostel and a crazy man jumped the fences at around 7 in the evening and tried to grab a girl. She ran screaming and the guy went further into the compound and went missing. We were all placed on immediate lockdown and asked to stay put wherever we were at. All the staff members began looking for the man and the police was notified. He was caught by the cook.

My schools were pretty okay, actually. We did have a bomb threat once I high school, but that was it.

Wait, that’s a lie. We had the power go out one morning, and we had to stay in the gym until it came back like a whole period later. I wouldn’t have minded, but it was during art class...

My school ended up being part of an undercover investigation tv show. A supply teacher (for both my science and form group) was secretly filming me, my classmates and other schoolkids. We didn't know until we all got letters talking about it and that it'd be broadcast within the next week. I continued to have a lot of supply teachers even after the show aired, so me and my classmates would be asking them questions and stuff, they could tell we were scared for a while after.

Spoiler: Mention of suicide

Okay this didn’t actually happen when I was in High school this happened the year after I graduated but I live pretty much across the street so I figured it still counts.
This elderly woman was sitting in her car in the school parking lot and she was reported I guess for being suspicious (I’m not actually sure what she was doing) but the woman was very depressed, on a lot of powerful drugs and once police came to the school she threatened to kill herself with her gun that she had in the truck. Obviously to try to save her the police tried to talk her out of it, the students were locked inside the building, nobody was allowed to go in or out because of fear of what the woman might do. She unfortunately committed suicide in the her truck. From what I know no student saw it happen thankfully but it was still so sad. When it was all happening everyone was scared because she may not have been the only person with a gun so while at home all I could think was:
1. Please help this woman
2. Please don’t let there be another person in the building with a gun and start hurting people I’ve known for years.
Honestly it was one of the most terrifying things ever because even though I was no longer a student I kept thinking if any of the students or staff were hurt I would feel so guilty for not being one of them. Nobody was quite sure if she intended to begin a school shooting or not but it was so sad that the woman took her life and was just such a scary event.
