Should kpop groups have foreign members? (1 Viewer)

Lack of foreign members = people complain
Foreign members in group = people complain

I see a lot of people saying their shouldn't be non koreans in kpop groups because its kpop- not international pop.
Thoughts?

Foreign members are definitely valuable but I don't really care one way or another.

A lot of huge groups have non-korean members (i.e. BP, Exo, 2 P.M.) People are going to complain no matter what.

Edit--One thing that just occurred to me: Many K-pop fans, me included, do not like the prospect of non-asians becoming idols.. So not only about nationality, but "race" somewhat as well.

Imo it opens a few more doors in the region were the foreign idol comes for promotions etc., no matter how big the doors open.
If the foreigner is good at anything else besides looking good then sure go ahead, put them in the group but if they are just here to fill a visual spot or to be a background dancer for better formations then nah, but for me that reasoning is pretty much intended for all groups,

I don't care that much if they should have foreign members. I mean I do like it when there are more foreign members because it adds more diversity to the group, but unfortunately people will still complain about it.

if by foreign you mean members who aren't Asian, tbh for me it wouldn't really make a difference but all the groups that have tried integrating that type of idea have all flopped. that's probably why we dont see it that much.

I personally don't mind foreign nationalities ( including non-asian ppl ).
But I guess it's kinda morely a thing people in korea would complain about, if they would go for the international market with korean songs it might work better for them than trying to go for the korean market first, but that way is slightly harder ofc

To be honest, I don't really care. The members being foreign or Korean doesn't make an impact on me and I love them just as much (if not more ins some cases) as the korean members.
