wow what a coincidence lol. this a perfect example.

I meant to say "I have so much going on in my head at once"
I got what you meant regardless. But I didn't even notice it because I myself fuck up like that too (though I don't have OCD).

That sounds stressful-is it something you notice when you're doing it or as you're doing it even though you can't control it or?

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions by the way I just am super interested in this stuff.
It starts out as a conscious action but now I don't have to actively do it for it to happen. It's like a reflex, it's happening 24/7 and I don't realize I'm doing it. I'm perfectly fine with that though because I can still focus and do stuff.

It's fine lol, I actually really answering questions about it.

Oh so it kind of started out as like you thinking about it but now it's more of a habit/compulsion that you don't put much thought into?

LMFAO I keep not noticing this-I feel like it's such a normal thing on the internet for people to miss words and misspell things that most people don't even think anything of it when someone does it. But it's interesting to know now that there can also be another reason.

I know I get spasms sometimes from being so hyper from my ADHD that affects my typing.

Yeah it started as something I was thinking about. On the days where it's bad though - like today - the more effort it takes to do the compulsion, thus making it harder for me to function with things like speaking, talking, etc. I think a lot of people think I'm always mumbling to myself but I actually mumble my mental compulsions so I'm constantly mumbling 24/7.

My therapist and I are still trying to see if I have ADHD but even if I don't have it, the spasms are so relatable. And yeah I feel like most people just think I made a typo but when I make typos every other sentence its pretty obvious. It's taking me so long to type these out bc I pause every 6 words :haylul:

I tend to not to respond a lot on forums because typing is SO annoying when my OCD is acting. It's not that I don't want to type, I do, but it takes me SO long. If I do respond it's usually really short and even that takes a lot of effort.

That sounds so rough but I get the struggling to function thing-when my sensory problems act up I can't do simple things as a result of my hyper fixation on the sensory overload I'm dealing with and I can become easily agitated as a result of it too. It's a struggle. I don't even know if spasms are a side effect of ADHD I just know I get them sometimes because of the built-up energy I haven't exerted.

But I wish you luck with getting a diagnosis on it-if you have any questions on that feel free to ask me as well. Though I know there is a fair amount of information out there about it compared to other disorders.

Also, this is good to know just so I and possibly others don't think your being short with us just to be short.

I should clarify that for me, though I do have my triggers sometimes I just wake up and my OCD is like brrrrrrrrrrr wheeeee brrrrrrrrr. Stress can make it worse but sometimes i just wake up and its just like a little kid going "why are you hitting yourselfwhy are you hitting yourselfwhy are you hitting yourself " over and over again :haylul:

My sensory problems just feel like an acid trip if I was choking on turkey stuffing so very very relatable content. I'll be sure to ask you,. if I have any questions lolll

My OCD makes a lot of people think I'm being rude. People with OCD tend to be very introverted and insecure so I used to be avoidant and everyone just thought I was super cocky.

Today I'm like trying ot FORCE myself to be productive but my brain is being like start this now, start this now, oh shit what were you doing? Fuck! I legit put some frozen strawberries in the microwave to heat them up. And then got so caught up in what I was doing I forgot them and also forgot the laundry machine dinged to let me know it's time to switch my shit.

And then I started dancing and just panicked for a second thinking I left my other batch of Strawberries in the microwave but no I ate them and the dish is in the sink.

So you may be onto something with this LOL

I don't understand how that could come across as cocky-that's so odd to me because to me that would possibly come across as you being nervous or uncertain?? But I know I also tend to intimidate people as well and I'm still unsure where that comes from (this is talking about in real life).

I've always acted really confident in myself. I kept to myself, had a good posture, and spoke very confidently. Since I always acted like I was confident, people always saw me as confident. And since I never spoke to anyone, it came off as being cocky. I always pretended to be cocky to hide the fact that I was really insecure though so it makes sense.

OCD causes a lot of memory issues due since I'm always distracted and I was making ramen yesterday...it was....interesting. Overdone, barely ANY soup was left, and wayyyy too salty.

Yeah, my brain is fucked today and on overdrive.

Ah, that makes more sense. And memory issues? I never would've thought of that being a side effect of the diagnosis.

Yeah it's like spatial memory mostly because often I'm so focused on my compulsions that i forget whats going on.

But other than that, scientists aren't sure why people with OCD have memory problems. I have really good memory though, it's more like short term details and stuff.

OCD also causes headaches it's very annoying
I don't think ADHD does but I know I have the tendency to get chronic headaches that cluster like on the sides of my head. I hope yours aren't too bad though because fuck headaches are literally awful.

Huh, at least that kind of gives you a good way to study? Just repeat stuff out loud (I think I read that right if not correct me).

I think I definitely have the same issue with memory in regards to forgetting what's currently happening either as a result of my brain being on overdrive and thinking a million thoughts at once or as a result of spacing out.

My headaches have actually gone down as I have gotten older, but when I was younger I had a headache every day and it felt like hell. I luckily don't get migraines but a lot of people w OCD do.

Yeah I always have a billion things going on in my head at once, especially since I'm a maladaptive daydreamer, so memory issues are just...wow. A lot people think I'm not listening to them and that also comes off as rude, but in reality i'm just spaced out or thinking.

Fuck that's something you don't learn about but that sounds really rough. Migraines are so fucking bad.

And thankfully my BF has learned that I am a VERY aloof listener. I look like I'm not paying attention at all but I am-I just need multiple stimuli to keep my attention rather than one unless I'm hyperfocused.

Another perfect of my memory issues would be that I have no recollection of typing some of the things that you just responded to. I re-read it and was like "wait when did i say that??"

yeah i also have the tendency to interrupt a lot because my mind is all over the place and i really wish these social media therapists would talk about that so people dont see it as rude.

Yeah, I've done that too but I don't know if it would connect to my ADHD at all. I just know I've forgotten I responded to someone when I did already and more things along those lines. That results in my getting lost in a conversation online or repeating myself too much in person.

I think these online professionals just aren't equipped the way they want people to believe they are-I mean if they were I feel like a lot of misconceptions about an overdiagnosed disorder like ADHD wouldn't be an issue anymore either. But yet we still have a bunch of people thinking it's as simple as "Hi my name is- OH A SQUIRREL!"

Whereas we have so many people thinking OCD is as simple as, "I like to have everything organized and cleanly."
