Every few years the standards that society places on people changes. 2021 has been a new year,
which means new standards are either coming or they're following from previous years. What
standards do you think are bad?

Having to provide a reason for your absence to avoid being rude. I understand it if your absence is extended, but I don’t always feel comfortable telling an employer these things. Or if you have to say no to plans

I hate that you have to apologize for your emotions, especially if they are negative. these days you just have to be a ray of sunshine or people will just be like "why are you so negative all the time?" I dunno maybe because I´m depressed? maybe because I feel like it? maybe because not everything happens for a reason? maybe because sometimes it is really hard to see the silver lining, man. just stop putting down my emotions just because they are not zen.

I feel this, i think people should be allowed to have privacy. Not everything needs to be shared.

i grew up the youngest in an asian family and yeah...you can imagine how that went. the age hierarchy in asian cultures is SO damaging. i hardly feel like anyone listens tbh. im not going to respect you because you're older, i'm going to respect if and ONLY if you deserve to be respected

It would also be hard growing up with violence being used when a child "steps out of line".

It only makes them be feared by their children. And when the children wont speak about anything with them their confused.

yeah, and actually studies show that kids that are hit actually become more manipulative and become better liars
