I'm struggling to pick up my book right now.
So I want to hear you guys talk about your favorite movies and books.
Maybe it'll motivate me.

Chungking Express (1994)


A story of young lovers, dreams and the pining possibility of romance.

Featuring one of my favorite love stories of all time, between a beautiful food counter worker and a handsome cop.

The story is set against the backdrop of mid nineties Hong Kong, where the enveloping streets of the city become a character unto itself under the shadow of the impending Handover to China.

Beautiful, dreamy, and eclectic.

It's my favorite film of all time.

It's the movie the introduced me to Tony Leung who has become one of my all time favorite actors. And Wang Fei, as one of my favorite female leads ever. Also Wong Kar Wai, one of my favorite directors.

Lots of favorites came from this film lol. It had a big impact on me when I first saw it when I was 18.

There are many books i have reread 10, 15, 20 times. And Movies i have seen in those ranges.

Books series with 30-60 volumes.

Characters that are like old friends now.

From old black and white movies to the musicals of my parents and grand parents era's.

like it a wonderful life. small things move the world.

I am very rarely out of the house except for errands where i do not have a book with me.

Heck i take books to read before the movie back when we could go to movies.


LOTR a normal (if rich) guy and his steadfast companion cross the world to remove a great evil.

I literally just exist to be a The Night Circus shill but idc I love it too death. It skips over unimportant things like plot or interesting characters it’s just a 400 page description of a pretty circus. The perfect book for me

more of a recent watch, but better days just got nominated for best intl feature film, yiyangqianxi did an amazing job for an idol (it was filmed before he got formal acting training)

lol first books i bought with earned money.
Read at 14 and about once a year after than .. now i kinda slow down to once every 2 years )

LoTR too, i bought it after a major school exam at the age of 15, we had equivalent of 'O'levels, n 2 yrs before tat an earlier major exam(since scrapped i think).
I musta read it for weeks maybe tho i think school at the next level started soon after i bought it. Anyway, i dont rmbr if it was first or others were, Belgariad or Covenant series-but its maybe the one iv reread the most times.

HoME (History of Middle-Earth) but ony the books on the various versions/revisions of LoTR n History of the Hobbit(which im reading for first time now, but im struggling through it in bits n pieces) are great but not much reread.
