Where do you think Jellyfish went wrong with Gugudan? (1 Viewer)

Everything, especially the management, they were barely promoted. If they were in a better company like JYP or Pnation, they would have been way more successful

My guess would be they relied too heavily on Sejeong and Mina's popularity translating from IOI to Gugudan, so they didn't need to put in as much effort. Of course it backfired, and by the time they realised it was already too late. Vixx were their main money makers, but with them now in enlistment mode they're not promoting. If they'd put more effort into Gugudan at the start, they would've been able to carry on and steady the ship enough to keep going.

A they should NEVER have launched during IOI's run, that pissed off a bunch of folks.
Maybe launch gugudan with out Mina and Sejeong and add em when IOI disbanded it not like the had to have her for main vocal duty as they had 3.

the group was large and some sejeong stans never ever embraced it at all.

The group was probably too old for wonderland. as a debut song too.
horrible luck with a different girl being out for almost every promotion.

i liked the kinda movie them of the title tracks..

^ Actually based on what Knetz said, the problem with their debut was putting another member than Sejeong in the center. Other stuff which they referred to was how the debut was rushed, everything was cheap and the members didn't even seem to have enough time to practice the choreo and were dancing messy. SeMiNa were famous but they put them in a group that had so many new faces and didn't even have synergy. Those who paid closer attention to them realized how they didn't have a strong bond... although you can tell many famous groups don't have a strong bond and have so much jealousy towards each other so why does it matter. Many groups have good songs and decent amount of promo but never become big with the public.

Yep well the timing was awful IOI was so new and then the 4 of them bail.....

Definitely debuted them too quickly and di not promote them properly. But i'd also argue they were just so lazy with them. Their songs always felt like first drafts they were ok but not great. My biggest beef was with their styling it was absolutely atrocious sometimes it looked so cheap and out of date.

I think it'd be easier to list what Jellyfish did right because it'd be a couple of things at most since they not only couldn't even capitalise on the I.O.I popularity but also buried Minas popularity as it just became Sejeong vs Gugudan to some fans.
