Any reason why you think such? I think Sejeong wants to continue acting instead of being an idol, maybe acting agencies haven't bitten at giving her a good contract/networking/acting opportunites: sadly Sejeong in gugudan/Jellyfish dint seem to me to become as big an acting "Name" as Nana, Suzy, YoonA, Seohyun, Son Naeun, even SooYoung or Yuri-so maybe her prospects are such tat she feels Jellyfish is her best option.(or other factors unknown to public are in play, tho tats only baseless speculation on my part). Of I.O.I. im not familiar with the acting contingent except slightly Kang Mina, who seems to hv a niche as supporting actress (afaik) so far. Doyeon n a few others are also acting but im not sure if its Sohee or which member(s) exactly, srry.

simply bc of the gross mismanagement of vixx gugudan and verivery i find jellyfish to be a horrible options so my only hope is she renewed bc she had no choice. i have no faith in them caring about her in the long term because they don't seem to care about any of their artists. gugudan is gugudan self explanatory that that whole group was wasted potential having two members of p101 that were very popular and loved but then having the group just disappear and then disband.
half of vixx straight up left the company and even though they are willing to promote as vixx they clearly find no value in staying in jellyfish as their primary label. and as for verivery i am more interested in boy groups as a whole but they are severely underpromoted and the only time they have ever been given the bit of spotlight they need was in road to kingdom and then promptly went back to obscurity.

I knew only glancingly abt jellyfish when gugudan suddenly announced disbandment earlier (this year?) but i put it down to current world/medical/emergency situation tho i read here tat jellyfish was a shitty company then too; same or similar to Pledis(i thot then /or later n think now tat most companies dint know how to capitalise on post I.O.I. members' popularity cos it was out of the norm, even W1 ~ Kang Daniel situation/Somi leaving JYP et al.

I kinda hope for Rand's sake tat idol agencies hv learned better since, or at least Yuehua/Yena/Everglow dont get charlie-foxed now.

I think partially my belief is tat being in pd groups gave them(the members) a taste of independence/popularity for their individual selves, while some integrated into their groups well; some like Somi, Chungha were better off(imo) as solo.

The companies who stuck them in idol groups faced the Suzy conundrum maybe, no matter wat they did; the entire group couldnt be raised to the level of their most well known member.

WeMe, gugudan, Pristin being prime examples of this. Idk which other idol groups hv post IOI members which i think is part n parcel of the whole thing, since if i dont even know which are n arent included in the 5 years since pd101 how are the fans from 5 years ago supposed to transfer their allegiance from I.O.I. to newer groups?

Same for izone ig. Poor Yena/Chaeyeon/et al. No solution in sight from i see from outside the situation.

But correct me if im wrong, Victon n Nuest were already a steady group, especially if 1 had sales of 20k as a nugu then. So they integrated/capitalised well, which is wat i hope for with Yena/Everglow/Yuehua which many r expecting/anticipating. Im apprehensive abt Everglow (Mia n Sihyeon i love 'em) but trust for the best outcome.

no victon and nu'est were not a steady group at the time of entering. the survival show victon was on the verge of disbanding, and they mentioned it in a show after the end of produce x 101 that their album would've been their last the one for nostalgic night but then they got their first win and began to sell well. nu'est was also doing pretty badly if you can see through watching the season, ever since face (their debut) they had been struggling hard to get recognition.

no i included them because they are under jelly fish not bc of a comparison to x1

ever since produce x 101 people have been even more critical of mnet survival shows and mnet immediately fxxked themselves over with the budget controversy and accusations of rigging.

i have a pretty big doubt that sm is on any sort of roll with nct hollywood, instead of strengthening the general appeal of nct within korea which is the key to them staying successful and what they really need because sm is seen almost as a joke to korea now. they want to debut a whole new unit when they already have a deficit in profits?
i discussed this with my boyfriend but sm has a severe problem with their allocation of their budget. they place heavy heavy emphasis on big budget music videos especially for nct when if you look at jyp who until recently was less successful, jyp doesn't put so much bombastic budget into their music videos.

and yet jyp is more successful, their rising star is itzy and mafia in the morning does not have some crazy insane budget. they also mass produce fan content for nct, each unit has several different variety shows dedicated to them after all. meanwhile they still cannot chart well enough in korea and therefore are not recognized by korea but only by the international fandom. nct also until very recently was failing to secure things like cfs, modeling campaigns, and musicals, acting roles etc. it is only now that i notice that the members are branching out and trying to boost their solo careers. they needed to reinvest and distribute the budget in nct in a better way to help push them into the eyes of the Korean public but they're going full hog trying to appeal to the international fanbase and as you should see on twitter, most of the international fanbase hates the idea of nct hollywood or is very afraid of what it will do to the existing units.

Maybe cos i knew (very little, even up to now) of Victon/Nuest/VeriVery only since 2018 n after when i started stanning SNSD(after sleeping on kpop/SNSD for 9 years intermittently).

I did say SM was tryin' to get in on the action (not rolling with it but tats maybe just semantics) with NCT Hollywood(my thot process was 2020 rlly fucked with SM's plans for SuperM with Baek n soon Taemin n even l8r Kai going on enlistment, so NCT HW, is another way to tap into Western market. Who knows by time Kai is discharged maybe its Taeyong's time to enlist so tats potentially 4/5 yrs hiatus unless membership changes. Poor Vikki if tat happens n if she cant be so long without OT7 SuperM.

To me NCT HW is just a sideshow (literally not meant in a bad way, ig just supplemental to NCT/SM rn), as main thing is still the korean idol groups imo.
