would it be right for YG to proceed with the comeback now (and attempt to stir the GP’s attention away from the scandal)? Obviously this comeback was planned before this situation happened but if they do comeback will the YG’s current reputation effect there comeback?

Stranger things have happened.

But at this point in time, YGE is being hit back to back to back with scandals -- business tax evasion, artist(s) and associates embroiled in the club controversy, alleged prostitution and rape allegations, alleged preferential treatment of artist(s) in the army. Also, we have to remember that when you're down, people tend to bring up past offenses as well (regardless of whether i-fans take them seriously -- e.g., marijuana).

So I personally believe that it would be best to postpone any comeback from the company because this is not a time to say, "Oh well, business as usual. Time to promote." I mean, they can, but I don't know how well it will be received? Perhaps fans and the GP will acknowledge that BP (and some other artists) are not directly involved in the scandals and support them, but public reception can be iffy.

(Also, we have to consider investors... What's the likelihood of investors staying if YGE does not, sooner than later, move forward?)

Somebody with business and marketing sense learn me something.

The timing is really bad. The main scandal (at this moment) is the hidden video chatroom - The general public focus more on that but as soon as YG opens his mouth, people will start to come for him and everyone who comes from YG Ent..

Don't know if Blackpink can save him from this destiny. I doubt it.

I think it'd be foolish to stop any of the planned comebacks, they've already lost so many investments that they NEED a successful comeback by SOMEBODY to help regain the trust of their investors. Big Bang might be YG's biggest group but they aren't their only successful group! Big Bang might've built YG as we know it but I think the best thing to do now, would be to show that YG doesn't need Big Bang to be a successful company.

With that being said, I think the WORST thing they could do is go too heavy on the media play, now that Seungri is gone, there really isn't anything tying YG to this scandal anymore and I think going into a total media blitz would just make it look like they were trying to cover something up!

I honestly don't know what would be best for bp. a comeback in that situation even tough they aren't personally involved with it could be more harmful. I think blinks should be more understanding and don't get mad when their cb is late than expected.
As I see it YG will probably let his artist rest for now and no comebacks will happen as long as this scandel is still a hot topic.

There will be negative press, but its not like whole company can take hiatus and reflective period, thatd hurt artists even more and cause stocks to fall More. If BP has comeback- as planned, im sure blinks Will pour it all The support they can. N

blackpink has been the only thing that could save yg for a while. the gp still likes them even with this scandal. But at the same time, right now it seems risky, nothing is gonna divert the gps attention from this scandal and rightfully so and if yg releases any news about a comeback it could seem like yg is trying to divert the situation, its risky but blackpink could be the light in all this darkness for yg if he just plays his cards right. Blinks are ready for anything, we have been waiting for some type of news about a comeback all month, so theres no doubt that were gonna be supporting as much as we can. its just a gray area rn since this scandal is still really fresh, its unfortunate that the rest of the artists in yg are being held back because of one person.

No investor will look at one successful comeback by an idol group and suddenly consider the company less of a risk. Investment decisions are made based on the confidence that a company's management, business strategy, and market position will continue to produce an attractive return on investment to its stakeholders, and it's becoming more apparent every day that YG has exposed itself to so much legal risk that the company's ability to even survive into the long term is seriously in question. This isn't a dating scandal. What the fans, the general public, and other consumers of kpop think has literally no impact here other than having something to talk about online. This is in the hands of law enforcement, major investors, company ownership and management, the people directly involved in these scandals, and whatever corrupt systems of influence brokering can be used to manipulate the outcome. All BP can do is what they've been doing, and work out an exit strategy for if and when the shit actually hits the fan.

I understand you completely tbh I still want him to keep the comeback float this month but since Bp is still a YG artist can that hinder the sucess even more by association. I feel this is similar to the Michael Jackson case The US where majority still loves the music but the allegations caused radio boycott, horrendous media play & controversy In supporting the music. International BP will go great but domestic i feel they will do fine but this scandal needs to be put to rest.

I get you I feel the best thing for BP is a double comeback this year. Let them have a comeback as planned and later like summer/fall comeback again for a big push.

I don't think this is something you can simply take eyes away from and as far as damage control I think Seungri leaving is all they can do.
Even that wont help cause YG made the company involved.

When is the correct time though? keep delaying comebacks just means stocks fall more and the artists lose support.

You say that but BP boosts stocks by huge amounts everytime they comeback.

Give BP a comeback but dont promote them in Korea and dont media play about them.

Nothing will help YG at the moment, along with Seungris there is also G-Dragons military scandal and as well YGs tax evasion scandal, so the company probably won't be in a good spot for a while even if Seungri leaves but Blackpink need to comeback soon for Coachella and their tours so they are gonna have to comeback while YG is not in a good light and just hope for the best.

I wasn’t even counting on Blackpink having a comeback this month, even without the scandal. Even if they actually did come back that wouldn’t be enough to avert the public’s attention from what’s going on.
