Has there ever been a survival show that you believe was successful at not needing to emotionally traumatize its contestants and the other various things that survival shows are guilty of that make us hate them? (aka rigged)

I personally believe that of the ones I have seen, I would say Mix and Match is the closest I have seen to being a more cut and dry not as needlessly traumatic show.
In No Mercy they threw IM in the ring and that was extremely unfair to him because all the other contestants are rightfully angry that all of their friends left for this person they never met to suddenly enter more than half way through. I felt bad for IM and for everyone else

Let's not even talk about how bad the Mnet ones are and I also don't like what I have heard about the JYP survival shows. I can't forgive JYP easily for what he did to Stray Kids in that show

The Unit in a more traditional sense of a survival show as it but Queendom apparently counts as one too although Mnet did try some drama with that however it just flopped because they all had experience

everyone loves hyping up qcyn2 but even they lowkey held the snh girls hostage so that fans don't mass vote a la ssk or conduct a vote investigation and evil edited girls for the traffic

I have never watched 16 but none of those girls that failed except the 2 he saved and brought back to the group stayed in house correct?

By and large the company run ones are worse.

At least a number of mnet kids did actually have careers after the show.

i think most of them did leave but i'm not familiar with 16 too much
stray kids survival show all of them debuted but he kicked two of them out for a couple episodes for what i still perceive as just for the drama
i'd say mix and match isn't as bad but treasure box is pretty bad, all of the treasure box trainees left yg and debuted in other groups or quit kpop

i would say mnet kids do have some chance but also many of them debut in groups that just fail straight up or are horribly managed. some are debuted too early to capitalize on their popularity and the group suffers for it 100%
