I was on YT so I decided to watch some JJY's variety shows just to see how is on screen personality is and guys, I'm legit shookt. He's literally a shy little kid. He's the cutest thing.
But then you switch to that alleged chat room and see this...

I- Are these people the same people? Like does this man deserve an Oscar for the best performance EVER?
I haven't been this shocked since SNSD/Jessica fiasco back in 2014.
What the fuck is this scandal. I knew idols were different from their on screen personalities but some are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PEOPLE?

People like to think they can tell who's creepy and scary, but it's only a thought they have to make it more comfortable... in reality we have no idea and what seems like the sweetest person can really be a monster :/

Though, I actually kinda liked him as rocker that had bit different voice and style you heard from idols, not that I was fan of any extent didn't even know he was more of solo artist now apparently and variety star.

I liked him on the drama The Lover and some radio shows but I guess you can never know what a celebrity is like. It might be a persona and they might be extremely different IRL. For better or for worse.

It’s understandable to be shocked but at the same time, what we as fans see is very little of an idol’s true personality. I started realizing this after watching a couple survival shows. Even Jihoon of Wannaone admitted he was tired of the persona he gave himself on produce and I don’t blame him for that.

His career as an artist didn't come close to his career as a variety star. He was apart of the cast on 2 Days 1 Night, which is like the biggest variety show in SK. It's ratings are always through the roof. He's a famous TV personality, though he does have a couple of hits as well.

Right now we are all being hit with the harsh reality. It’s hard to accept as idols often sell their image along with the music they provide with us. In a weird way, this scandal is helping us understand this reality and hopefully younger fans will stop glorifying these “glamorous” personalities.

I get what you mean, like for many the celebrity them is just enhanced version of themselves and often people have different sides too, but these kinda things come from left field.

I think that's why I gravitate towards idols that honestly don't seem to give a fuck about anything/idols that have issues with "bad" attitude
They seem the most sincere, if that makes sense...
