When it comes to Movies?

Consecutive usually. I like trilogies/series of films as longs as the story doesn't get stale because it's dragging too long or they are out of ideas.

Some of my fave series are; Pirates of the Caribbean, The Matrix, MCU. (LOTR too but that's based on a book so I guess it doesn't count lol).

It would have been an awful movie if it was all 1 film. Too many things and characters for 1 film to handle without it being a complete mess lmao.

i like both as long as they use their time length wisely, if it's a one off movie then they need to tell the story successfully in 1 movie and if it's a trilogy then they need to tell it in 3 etc

Each has a place some of my favorite movies are stand alone.

Others series / mega series.

one unless they're based on books and would have to cut a lot of important parts out to make it fit

Depends on the series as some do consecutive story telling well while others should've stopped after the first installment
