What are your thoughts about love triangles in mass media?

Honestly, I have read YA novels, watched movies, tv series, et cetera and I find them completely annoying. I'd say YA is the worst offender, but when you see season 3 of Sex and the City you will know that it is impossible to get any worse... I just find them to be particularly ridiculous and other means could be had to introduce conflict into a relationship [as conflict is what keeps a story going] other than another party.

I can't really say for Adult books, because most of the ones I have read don't include romance anyway and are 1000+ page epics that focus on trying to defeat a supernatural demon monster that is stalking children. Yes, I did read the book for IT... lol.. But when I read The Eye of the World there wasn't any romance in that either... @RandAlThor I haven't finished the wheel of time series; is there any romance in it?

But anyways your thoughts? Do you love a love triangle? Do you hate it? Are you indifferent?

the ones in stories arent really love triangles lol, love triangle is like A likes B, B likes C, C likes A. i like those kinds. but the "love triangles" in mediate arent ones i really like

I don't like love triangels, especially in YA books.
I remember how exhausting it was when I read Twilight, so I try to avoid this trope
