Honestly, the argument that is made for him about how he had to be an ass and James bullied him therefore its justified that he bullies harry & company... But then you think of how merciless he was toward Neville.. and Neville never did anything wrong aside from his mishaps.

And then the part when he's getting bullied and Lily saves him and he calls her a mudblood... Like why do I feel like I see that all the time. Someone getting helped out and them lashing out against the person that saved them.. Its really bizarre.
honestly, yeah I can understand the argument for his actions towards the golden trio but like neville is just trying to live his life lmao he's just trying to vibe. becoming neville's greatest fear in the poa was really what made me hate him a lot

So true. We only get mere glimpses of his life pre Philosopher's Stone [Snape's I mean], but the bullying he endured seems so much smaller than the bullying he inflicted on others. I mean during the legimancy training Harry did with Snape and Harry went through Snape's memories.. Snape responds by throwing Harry to the floor rather harshly. Like, going through someone's memories would be akin to reading someone's diary irl... I can't see a justification for physically assaulting someone for an invasion of privacy.

Like I remember seeing this episode of Buffy where she had Angel sequestered away in her room for like two days... and she thought he read her diary and she goes into a whole schpeal about how "hunk" can mean a lot of differnt thing... but she "the slayer" who was shown to be prone to violence as a means of resolving conflicts didn't throw Angel out of the window of hit him or something like that based on her assumption that he read her diary... but she's a likable character [most of the time] and snape is not. lol
