I generally avoid wasting money by: Asking myself if I actually need or want the item, or is it just an "oh shiny" gut reaction (aka, not buying in the first place). Researching to make sure I buy the correct item the first time. Some of my most expensive purchases have been the ones I cheaped...

It was a two-hour concert, and they paused every 2-3 songs to interact with the audience. It made me understand how groups with smaller discographies can fill a concert, because unlike spotify, humans can't actually sing and dance the entire time, nonstop, back-to-back. Stupid me for not putting...
