The majority of the people that I’ve seen denying that bts paved the way are 2nd gen stans, on twitter and things like that. So sorry if I generalized but I’m speaking from my own experience.
No other girl group is going on the billboard the way that blackpink is though. No other girl group is performing like blackpink. A lot of new fans have been brought in because of them and they’re representing kpop girl groups like never before. They have what the gp likes and they’re slowly...
I completely agree! there were a lot of kpop acts who tried getting into america before but bts and blackpink were the only ones who have gotten recognition among the gp.
it just means that i agree with you and that you kinda took the words out of my mouth and kinda encapsulated the point I wanted to make for this thread.
agreed. im hoping that 2020 will be a different year for them, hopefully by then yge gets their shit together and are done with scandals so they can give the girls a comeback. but everyone who runs that company has shit for brains so expecting them to do anything remotely smart is asking for...
that's very cool! but again, when talking about overall success blackpink really outperforms when it comes to these types of things. they sold out their European tour and were going to big arenas with big capacities. they ended up having the biggest world tour with the most attendance for a kpop...
other girl groups are definitely doing good now but blackpink are still outperforming in everything, I think they're really the only ones who have success that is actually catching attention. id definitely say that more girl groups are making a name for themselves in America but blackpink were...
then id probably say blackpink, first girl groups to really go to America were wonder girls and snsd. but the first girl group to really achieve success is blackpink.
eh id say that blackpink still does have the hype, every time that blackpink comes back, new blinks join the fandom. I mean when square up came out they charted on the billboard hot 100 and 200, only for one week but they were still the highest charting album and song for a girl group. when kill...
it depends on what you mean by the first steps? in terms of the first kpop girl groups to try and venture out, snsd and wonder girls. but in terms of the first girl group that actually managed to have a decent amount of success and somewhat stick to the gp? id say blackpink.
I agree that snsd and wonder girls took the first steps but I don't think they left as much impact needed to really get the gp interested in them. they were still important of course and definitely opened the doors for other industries and styles of music.
blackpink is kinda paving the way for kpop girl groups in the west?
there's no doubt that bts definitely opened doors for kpop in the west and anyone who denies that (ahem 2nd gen stans ahem) is delusional. but I feel like the doors that were opened benefited the boy groups more then they did...
as long as kpop groups like bts and blackpink are on the rise, I don't see a group like the ones Simon Cowell makes becoming as popular. kpop isn't even blocking western groups from getting big, they're just better overall. they keep up with the trends meanwhile groups in the west think this is...
nah, I've never done it before but that's only because I usually watch movies online and only go out to the movies when my friends or family ask me :ilovebread:
@kodoku here are the gifs! if you want me to change something then tell me and ill do it :) they're also both under 3 mb so you don't have to tinker them in any way to get it under the limit :)
