Maybe write the topics you understand a few times so that you can memorize it (helps a lot in theoretical subjects) and when starting with a topic you don't understand maybe try YouTube lectures (I would have suggested a few channels but I don't know what majors you take)

When I write notes. I search it up on Google, the main points and examples etc. are available there, after that I would take reference from the book of the said subject
