Honestly I don't even think its the Chinese language itself but how we spell Chinese words/names in English. Its not phonetically right and it hurts my brain so much lol. Like the name Anshi to me looks like it should be pronounced as A-nuh-shi but the shi part is pronounced more like sher...

lol I've said it that way before! usually I can get name pronunciation after a while but I have trouble with Chinses and French and both those names come from those languages so I blame it on that lol
