I think, with the exception of YG groups, ballads don't do well with idol groups, which is why RV suffered that fate. I'm sure BP can do well with a ballad, at least initially, if not in the long run.

This is true but we must not forget that BlackPink are main group from YG, which means regardless of the genre, the public will still check out the song within the first 24 hours and they'll still probably get #1. Maybe even an AK lol.

Personally, I don't think we'll know till another group achieve's TWICE/SNSD level success, you know what I mean? Most people claim that gen 3 started in 2012 and now it's coming to a close. But that "close" could be last year or this year, depending on when the next top GG comes into play.

Yeah a gradual change would be nice, however I don't want it to take as long as say Apink because the market is so fickle now that I don't know if 3rd gen groups will even last as long as Apink has.
