i just think Alan nailed all the nuance of who Snape was. If i had to pick he would be one of the actors who really brought a deeply conflicted character to life without making him a cartoon. It would have been easy to mess Snape up, but he walked that line. While he was mean and unfair it...

yep the first new one was superior to the second. But that is to be expected Hollywood aside from some of the marvel movies has lost its way with block busters.

bad is charitable. Ill be honest i left rogue one feeling almost as excited as after i left a new hope (ep 4) back in the day. It has that epic feel

Yep and he famously refused to read the books. i can understand that in a 'normal ' role but when playing a character like that ya need to really have a feel of the world and who they are. Snape for example is master class.

Got throwing a kid off a tower while banging your sister was a bridge too far, add to that the just awful nominally good characters and by the end of book 1 i had maybe john to root for. i would much rather read say malazan book of the fallen although those are weird as heck and i only...

yea he was just bad. i was thinking of that exact scene too. He looked like he was gonna beat or shake harry to death.

i hated the books took me 4 -5 try's to read book 1 and i wikied the rest. Had zero desire to watch the tv show.

yea the other guy just never had the Weight that the role required.

loosing Richard Harris was a bad blow to the movies. Then book 4 went off the rails with spew ect and was bloated Umbridge was about as evil of a government employee as you could ever find, and just so over the top. Neville and Luna are fantastic characters who the movies did not get

pretty sure that is Hermione Granger aka Emma Watson .

Err ironically i think the only dr who i really watched was tom baker back when i lived in Australia. although i think most of those were repeats.

dude you got a good one. Colin Ferguson was the sheriff on Eureka. or at least that was the show i watched him in back in the day i lived on sci fi channel.

my problem is if i am overly steeped in the books its way too hard to decoupple. say 5 to 10+ rereads. for example Aragorn as a conflicted 90's guy with doubts about his worth and life is enough to make me homicidal add to that a puppet Frodo and i need to stay away from internet...

Awe come on i wanna be Colonel O'Neil he is super cool :) and i get to shoot aliens !! Niles is just a shrink... although Jung would work. (and i would not object to being insanely rich)

hey the lotr movies look pretty... i have many blu ray/ dvd's and some vhs. i find the streaming services more annoying than useful. more than 80% of the time i am settling instead of watching what i would want to.

Thanks that was alot )
