The bigger companies like SM do not have debt at all for the trainees. In fact the company buys stuff like apparel, living expenses if from out of city or country ect for them. Taking out bank loans was a new detail i had not heard of.

The contract terms are extremely confusing even for entertainment contracts. Entertainment historically has preyed on the artists. I thought there was a standard ministry approved base contract in Korea though.
