So August ended a bit ago but I forgot to post this so here we are...
yes I procrastinate but DON'T JUDGE.
I'm hella busy lately.

ANYWAYS...here are the books I read in August.

1. A Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes by Suzanne Collins: 2 Stars (Dystopian)
2. DarkDawn by Jay Kristoff (#3): 3.5 Stars (Fantasy)
3. Tokyo Ghoul Vol.5 by Sui Ishida: 4 Stars (Horror)
4. Miracle Creek by Angie Kim: 5 Stars (Mystery)

So I didn't read as many books as I would've like to have read BUT I think I mostly enjoyed all the books.
Jay Kristoff's books are so daunting that reading Darkdawn took most of the month for me.
But I ended up really enjoying the book even with the 3.5 star rating.
This month wasn't bad just wish I got to read more.

If you have any questions about the books feel free to drop them below.
If you have a recommendation for a book you think I might like please give me one too.

ALSO...
what did you guys get to read in August?
What are you anticipating reading for September?
LET ME KNOW!!!

For September I’m gonna try and start/finish The Foxhole Court series, my sis recommended it to me and it’s good so far

I've heard some polarizing opinions about it. I think you either love it or hate it. Just like The Selection series.

i started sometime in aug and am on book 10.. also i REALLy Love the feel of the ROC paperbacks they are just so nice to hold and read.

I finished the first dragon lance(Weis and Hickman) set again in Aug for sure.

That last sentence scared me.

Four-Letter Word (Christa Desir)
Uncanny (Sarah Fine)

I usually read ten or so books per month but I was really busy :catsip:

I normally don't read too many books but this month was rough because I chose two dense books that consumed so much of my time.
:nekoshy: :nekoshy:
But I love talking books so I love when you comment! I think I've only heard of the Becky Albertalli book tbh.

The Albertalli one was probably my least fave tbh :we_kpopsourcing: Simon Vs The Homo Sapien's Agenda was a lot better

I'd really recommend And Then There Were Four, it was surprisingly good!

unfortunately, I was on the fence with Simon so I doubt I'd like any of her other books.

It sounds like it was a thriller or a mystery-was it?

The problem I had was that it was basically a copy/paste of Simon. Jewish kid who lives in Georgia, a female and a male best friend, about 500 Harry Potter references, etc etc :nayeonisdone:

Yep! It was a little hard for me to get into at first but it really picked up after the first few chapters :nekolove:

I feel like most thrillers are like that for me. If they start out being really good they rarely end on a high note...Miracle Creek was the exception.

I ended up reading:
Majesty by Katherine Mcgee (enjoyment wise its 4 stars but if I look at this book as the second part of a duo then I get frustrated because it makes the first book pointless imo)
Doll Bones by Holly Black (3 stars)
Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall (4 stars)
The Orphans Tale by Pam Jenoff ( 3 Stars)
Tokyo Ever After by Emiko Jean (DNF at around 85 % the way through. ) :nekosweat:

I thought most people loved Tokyo Ever After so I'm shook! What made you DNF it?

Based off the synopsis I expected a book about the character building a relationship with her father and learning about her culture, instead it was a romance that was very insta love. I at first was just going to power through it but I was too disappointed to see it through.
