Okay uh I just realised Yuta's song is in Japanese and I shouldn't be allowing Japanese releases into this contest. That's on me for not checking my bad, I was under the impression it was a Korean release. I'm gonna let it participate since we're this far in but a reminder for next year that I only accept Korean releases. I'll be more vigilant in the future.
Edit: Chaeyoung's is also in English, I think there's more leeway there since I've also allowed Katseye and KDH in but girl, whatever.

ok so this is actually my first time listening to the chaeyoung song - i've really not kept up with kpop this year. that said, i was pleasantly surprised, it's a really good song! twisted paradise's chorus is glorious too, but i really don't like the verses. so... chaeyoung takes this round for me!

I think Chae's song techncially still counts as her korean debut.. and more and more groups do full english songs for their korean comebacks

It does. I always forget to write out a criteria and what I accept (the main thing being PROMOTED in Korea) and it always seems to screw up the tournament because of that. Chaeyoung DOES count, Yuta isn't meant to.

This is my first time hearing both songs (am I living under a rock? Maybe…). Shoot (Firecracker) is nice, it has a chill vibe that I appreciate. Yuta’s definitely gives rock ballad vibes, it definitely started out way too slow for my liking. So Chaeyoung is my winner for this round.

After listening to both songs, I liked Twisted Paradise more.
