4th Gen Groups That You Like? (1 Viewer)

It's been a while since I have been active on KPS, let alone actively listening to any new music or groups that have emerged in the past few years and I'm having trouble knowing where to start with 4th gen. I know the names of some of the groups, none of the members, and maybe only a few of the songs sadly so I want to know what are the 4th generation groups you like? What is your favorite song from them? Maybe a favorite b side? Favorite member? Anything really

I can say the only 4th gen I listened to before I left are GWSN, Cherry Bullet, and I know I definitely like IVE as of this morning. =)

I really like the dance style of New Jeans, I think the most recent song I heard from them was Attention and I really liked that

As for Billie, this is the first time I've listened to them I actually really like that song, their vocals harmonize so beautifully !

A note: I always prefer a stronger r&b style and powerful vocalists, although I do also like a really well made pop song.

Powerhouse vocalists and dynamic performers with a wide range of music styles and a great rapper in Yuki.

Cool and sophisticated r&b or r&b inflected pop led by one of the best voices of his generation, Xiaojun, who lives up to the SM main vocalist legacy, and the dynamic performance you'd expect of an NCT unit. Tt are very dramatic, bsides more low-key. Another great rapper here in YangYang - one of the best in NCT - and one of the main dancers, Ten, is also one of the best in not only NCT, but also SM.
Fave song: tie - Take Off and Phantom
Fave bside: another tie - All for Love and Domino
Fave member: Kun (he's also my pfp rn)

Aespa
Famously "experimental" but most of their music is mostly the r&b vocal show you'd expect from an SM group. Phenomenal vocalists.

Billlie
Their tt are hit and miss for me (usually quite unexpected, some would say noisy), awesome bsides are mostly jazzy and r&b. Main vocalist Haram is amazing.

One extra song: Snowy Night (it's a holiday song but it's very much in their jazzy r&b bside style)

The Boyz
They swing a bit from bright pop to more experimental to r&b and their later music really allows the vocalists to shine. I find some of their early stuff too cutesy for my tastes and I think the quality of the production definitely improved with later releases (the early processing masked their voices IMO)

Fave song: Thrill Ride (pure power pop)
Fave bside: Insanity
One more: Stealer (just to show the more experimental side - they bounce between the two on tt)
Fave member: Sangyeon - the leader and the power belter you hear on songs - that's him on the big moment on Thrill Ride

Pixy:
Darker dance pop with a goth look but not as rock-oriented as some other groups like that. Originally with a strong vocalist and rappers, but main left. They adapted nicely tho.

A lot of the groups I stan are actually 4th gen - so one of them includes Kingdom ofc (my ults), and I also like STAYC, purple kiss, Onewe, Just B, e’last, TXT, Ateez, drippin, cravity etc.

Since there are too many rookie girl groups to keep up with, I personally chose just a bit to maintain my sanity and they are ~

1. aespa ~ Favorite member - NingNing, Favorite song - Savage.
2. PIXY ~ FM - Dia, FS ~ Let Me Know.
3. Purple Kiss ~ FM - Goeun and Chaein, FS - Ponzońa and memeM.
4. IRRIS ~ FM - Yunseol, FS - Wanna Know.
5. Witchers ~ [ If they do debut this year, but there is no news about it currently. FM is undecided. ]
