Its so sad that she kinda broke down. Hyeyeon is a star that managed to shine bright along side Sejeong and Mina.

Big groups need many stars to have a shot.

Small groups are like basketball teams 1 or 2 kids can be enough.

I cant find much other than she Graduated High School (SSoPA) It was her health that caused the issue.

Gugudan has had Horrid health luck with members missing for all but 2 CB.
Now they are on an extended hiatus (ie the Not That Type comeback was November 2018)
Semina did not go well and Sejeong's solo under preformed.

I Can Not believe how every freeking agency except the one under hostile take over and crazy management has managed to screw up the IOI members groups.
WJSN does not get a pass with out the Rocket girls and that dynamic even with the added benefit of being senior to IOI as a group they were not setting the world on fire.

Given this history were I running any of the IZONE kids. I would move heaven and earth to keep the group permanent.
1 successful soloist and tier 2-3 groups is not a great freaking track record.

It actually makes JYP's Sixteen look greedy beyond measure since he didn't need to do one of these style shows for his groups. They already have BIG 3 privilege so what was the point?

I despise in house survival shows, that exact reason that is why JYP and YG get zero respect from me. And all those groups are fruit of the poisonous tree. Now i can understand why folks who liked them from the shows are attached. Its like a cute puppy you raised most folks are not into putting it down until its old and crapping all over the house.


People get attached to a group.
This is also why NCT/Super M is an awful Idea.

Unless you go full ABK /Jpop Mix and match does not work super well. AKS for example has so much infrastructure to support that model that the way they make money is super different than the way kpop companies make money.


IZ*ONE is interesting.

First every company wanted to keep going already. (X1 had some companies that did not and most of the kids had still not signed X1 contracts.)

Second the numbers in Japan are crazy they are in spitting distance of twice i think the year end charts had all 5 songs/albums super close together. And as for the AKB family IZONE sold under the combination group, nogi 46, SKE48 (the oldest sister group) another 46 group was close to one of the 46 groups and HKT NMB (beat some albums and songs.) From an AKS standpoint he has 3 girls Much less maintenance and upkeep and they are making cash.

Third the girls really really seem to actually like being together.

Fourth everglow , rocket punch are doing well it might be playing with fire to add kids in a year and a half. Most groups do not do well with late additions (WG's reboot excepted.)

They are coming back there is buzz about ordering sites getting the albums ready to go again.

If Bloom IZ does as well as i expect and they navigate the admittedly problematic pr issue to have a few more successful CB's .

Permanence has a shot.

Man I miss Gugudan, they had multiple releases in 2018 and they were all great but none of them did too well and now we've gone 15 months without a comeback or any hint of it. They really screwed up with making Sejeong big when they had the chance.
They still have the best lineup among post IOI groups, except maybe Pristin which was a scarily talented lineup. But Gugudan definitely has the best discography and should've been doing as well as WJSN does now.
I loved Semina and Ogu Ogu subunits too.
