Hey everyone,

It feels like a good moment to share a bit more openly about the journey of KpopSource and my role in it. Looking back to when I first decided to start this website, it's truly been an incredible, and sometimes challenging, adventure.

From the beginning, I've poured my heart into this community. While I know some decisions along the way might have seemed unexpected, I always tried to steer things in the direction I genuinely felt was best for the site and its users, navigating as best I could.

A significant turning point was when my partner, Marko, moved on from the project. His departure was a huge shift, and frankly, it left a gap, particularly on the technical side. My own coding knowledge is limited – I'll be the first to admit I don't have the typical developer setup (like dedicated testing environments before launching changes). My process is often more direct, which, as some of you have experienced, can sometimes lead to unexpected bugs or even site crashes when I'm working on updates. I am incredibly grateful for your patience and understanding whenever things haven't gone smoothly; please know it's never intentional, just a consequence of my learning curve and limitations.

Life also threw some personal challenges my way a few years ago. I found myself facing significant debt, which required me to take on a demanding full-time job just to make ends meet. This drastically reduced the time and energy I could dedicate to actively developing KpopSource. During this period, I honestly couldn't have kept things afloat without our amazing staff team. I need to give a huge, heartfelt thank you to @Ahsoka especially, who truly stepped up on what should have been my job and worked tirelessly to keep this community vibrant and welcoming. While I wasn't as visible on the forums, I promise I was still here behind the scenes, doing my best to keep the site running smoothly whenever I could grab moments between work and life.

Speaking of keeping the site running, I also want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who has generously donated to KpopSource. Your financial support has been absolutely vital. Thanks to your contributions, the site's operational costs are fully covered all the way through the end of 2026. Knowing that the server bills are taken care of removes a significant burden and allows me to focus my limited resources and time on improving the site itself. Thank you, truly, for that peace of mind and for believing in this community.

The reality is, I'm still working that full-time job, and the time zone difference doesn't make things easier! However, I've reached a point where I'm determined to carve out dedicated time for KpopSource again. I'm now committing a few hours each day specifically to work on the site, focusing on completing features and improvements that have been on the back burner for too long. It feels good to be making steady progress again, even if it's step-by-step.

I wanted to share what this renewed focus has allowed me to accomplish so far this year:

This is just the beginning of this renewed phase. There's much more I want to do and plan to tackle in the future. Progress might not always be lightning fast given my schedule, but it is happening consistently now.

KPS is one of the friendliest and most relaxed online communities I've ever visited. It's like online communities were back then when you could spend your time in IRC chats without seeing flame wars, shit storms, trash talking. Such places became very rare!
