I will never understand why a company as rich as SM is so damn jealous of others success in America. He got jealous of BTS so he made Super M, he got jealous of Blackpink so he made Aespa. He got so jealous of not having all the attention that he opened a "historic landmark" in LA dedicated to himself for "spreading the Hallu Wave across the West".

This is no shade at the girls themselves. They are innocent. Just doing their dream job.

I think the trend they want to set with aespa is that AI Model thing but how minimal that is being used I don't even understand why SM decided that would be a good thing at all, they aren't even used to sell merch or anything so far so idk what its really good for for now

4 just seems to be an unlucky number for SM.

f(x) ended as 4 (because of hate towards Sulli), Red Velvet started with 4 (and got backlash when Yeri was added), and now aespa apparently will only be 4.

We shall see how this plays out.

4 is a number tat hasnt been the full number of members of SM groups so far tho, unless CJSH The grace was 4 members from beginning to finish.

So it might turn out to be lucky number for Aespa(rumors persist tat 7 is the full/forthcoming total members not including virtual members, so idk)

Only time will tell, ig. No horse for me in this race so im as neutral as can be for now.

I'm not that excited about AESPA despite my initial attempts to convince myself otherwise.

It would have been nice to get something truly different from the current trends.

This is my main gripe with the group as well. The girls are pretty and skilled, Black Mamba while nothing amazing, is still fairly solid. And even ignoring all the AI/virtual avatar stuff, Idk, maybe I expected something different?
They're okay but coming from SM, I expected them to not sound like another girl crush group since the market is oversaturated with them.

Their concept is def unique, sound not so much.

Exactly my thoughts. Black Mamba is decent. But SM is supposed to be above decent.
