I usually read more info about them and then you can guess (the romantic, soft type, the silent one, the extra one, the funny one etc.)
I´d also suggest watching as much variety as you can.
usually a good tip in general:

learning the name + something extra
tom + likes reading

I usually get a friend who stans the group to talk about them a lot, so I can associate the members with things (like for example, giving them nicknames based on inside jokes or creating our own lore surrounding the members).
That's how I was able to learn all the members of NCT so quickly

I learnt NCT members so quick cause I tried this thing where I made a google slide presentation of each member and that really helped

Lyric videos are also helpful, watch those and then live stages where their names are shown in the corner above the lyrics.

I tend to remember member faces off distinct features they have, which is why I always end up having two members that take me forever to learn in the end lmao
ex: in aespa, ningning and her eye + cheek combo, karina and her eyes + jaw, winter her nose because that's all we had of predebut pics lol, and giselle for her vibe
I sometimes also remember members by facial expressions they like to do, like chuu's smile, mark's surprised face, haechan's smug face, jeno's smile, etc
or I go on an internet deep dive and end up watching hours of videos
