Are you a fast or slow reader? (1 Viewer)

I'm not really that fast. about 280 wpm. I don't skim read unless its something in parenthesis, which in some books is just conjecture that enriches my experience little and skipping it is necessary. So in the current series I'm reading that is like 30 pages an hour. To contextualize this: Back in 2016 I was reading The Mortal Instruments series and was able to read book 4 in like a day and a half and book 5 in like 2-3 days. And that is spending the whole day reading.. But I know people who can read really fast like 450 wpm and thousand page books are devoured like no one's business.

And Oh my g-d... Book 4 was the worst. I f****g hate when characters spend much of the book just moping around and being depressed. I've found that this actual makes me a bit depressed... And it was just a straight buzzkill. Book 5 was so much f***g better. To the point where if I do a re-read ever, I'm going on goodreads or wikipedia and reading a synopsis and then reading book 5. I mean I might read the last chapters as they pull everything together, but not that full book again. lol
