People always say "be yourself", but while it seems like the simplest and most natural thing in the world, we all know it's not so easy due to society and the harsh judgement of people who try to force us to all be the same. So can you honestly say you are true to yourself, that you don't change or disguise your true personality too much? Thoughts?

As for me, I'm am real and sincere in many ways, but I am also somewhat dishonest at times in the sense that I go along with what others say just to "survive" another social interaction and I could blame my anxiety and trauma for that, but the truth is that it's also my own weakness, fakeness, and hypocrisy... it's not that I lie or talk badly about people much, but I just hope to become someone who stands my ground and speaks my mind more rather than acting like this, it's something that I sometimes do and it's not who I am, so it bothers me

Mostly yes, do i screw up sure. But most times i am me, other peoples choices are theirs I am responsible for me and mine.
I do not start arguments just because why bother, but i do not do many things just to go along even something as simple as cake when i am focusing no carb.

Yes, as soon as i had the freedom to do so really. other than that age restrictions and environment usually got in the way of certain aspects of my personality. I still strive to survive but lying to isn't something necessary (compared to when your a child and are about to get beaten for disagreeing lol) i just don't say anything and move on, however if i dont like something i say it but lucky for me i dont really care what others think and hardly ever really bothered in general.
of course my personality isn't as simple as i'd like to be you never seen all sides at once.... if you did you'd need a lot of help to understand it at a basic level.

I am myself, but I'm a quiet person so on the surface, not much of my personality shows
When I try to fit in or be "normal", I end up messing up and getting misunderstood so I decided to be myself
I wouldn't say I'm true to myself because I hate who I am, but I end up being see through because of my own words

I don't bother hiding my personality much but I do screw up a lot. I am mostly good natured but sometimes things come out as rude when it was all good natured. Ex. My teacher was sick, like throw up sick but still didn't go home sick, and I told her "she looked bad" but I could've reworded it as "you look sick"
